  4. Hi Everyone! Well, we are back! Now its time to file for Removal of Conditions for my wife's Green Card. It expires on October 30. Just sent the Packet out to the AZ office since we are in CA. Should arrive by Monday Aug. 3.
  5. Hi folks- I filed my ROC with divorce waiver back in April 2018. I got my extension letter around July 2018 for 1 year and then got another one with 18 months extension in August 2018. I never got any letter for Biometrics or never heard any update on my application. Last year June (2019) I got a letter saying case was transferred to another office for jurisdiction. That's it. Nothing after that and online case status still says same: **We transferred your case to..... ** . Should I be worried about the case now? By the way- I got one year more extension on passport in March 2020. Did any filer here from similar timeframe hear anything about the case or decision?
  6. I would like to know if somebody here have a similar case. SRC April 2019 transferred to Potomac in February 2020.
  7. Hi All, My window period for ROC opens Feb 7th and I seem to have all in order for filing. My only question now is : Can I travel out the country while application is with USCIS? My GC card only expires in May 2019 and I plan on visiting home in March just for a week or two. Has anyone encountered issues WRT this?
  8. Hello fellow ROC filers, Just spent the whole day prepping our docs...ROC ready to go in the mail on April 1st! Thread is started for April 2019 ROC filers. Let the waiting begin!
  9. Our paper work got send back with a rejection notice telling it was rejected because we filed before the 90 day mark. I think the documents were scanned into the system because there is a printed writting at the bottom of every document. Can i send the same documents again? They send back the Money Order too, can I use the same MO again??
  10. I didn't see a August 2018 I-751 topic so I thought I'd start one. Preparing to send mine in less than a week! It might be quite a number of pages... Anyone else filing in August 2018 and is getting their packet ready?
  11. Hi everyone, Is enrolling with Medi-Cal (California's Medicaid) health insurance considered a public charge? I'll need to do a ROC in about 2 years, will it interfere with that? Should I go with Covered California instead? TIA
  12. Hello, has anyone traveled after Removal of conditions? Do they extend the visa? If anyone has any information could you please provide? thank you
  13. Re ROC.β€” Did y'all include 2 affidavits by people who know you and your spouse attesting bona fide? I'm reading the instructions and it says they're needed but no one has mentioned it before. If you did, what template did you use, please? And who signed the affidavits? Has anyone gotten an RFE for not including these? Thanks! PS: I have a much older account but I forgot my password, and VisaJourney won't send me the reset email!
  14. Does anyone know in the instructions number 5 on the list? Affadavits by two people. Is this just a sheet saying they know people or need to be notarized or anything by lawyer? Who or how is it prepared? also, im getting nervous πŸ˜‚ do we need finger prints? I think those are for people not living in the states?
  15. Dear Visa Journey MIlitary/Veteran/military families community first of all thank you to those who served/are serving. So I am currently waiting on my Removal of conditions I am a June 2017 filer on the California Service Center so unfortunately judging by other folk's experiences I am looking at a looooong wait 14-18 Months The issue is that I am scheduled to ship to Marines Bootcamp this coming early August and if current trends continue I fully expect for my ROC application to still be pending by then. In light of that I am a little concerned about possible Requests for evidence sent in my absence and God forbid even an interview. I know it sounds ridiculous but they (I have seen it with many people) wait literally over a year to start reviewing your application and oftentimes they send you a RFE after over a year of backlog. Also, I know I-751 interviews are rare, but what would happen if they call me and my wife for an interview while I am in bootcamp, what can I do? Is not possible for me to request a leave of absence from training. Also with regard to RFE's I am the one who has always taken care of all the immigration paperwork. Any advice as to how to prepare everything for my spouse who is inexperienced on this processes, so she can successfully respond to an hypothetical RFE? By the way for those curious about it the Marines does take in recruits for enlistment with conditional I-55's 1 the only difference is that due to newly passed regulations their waiting period is way more extensive than regular (citizens) applicants. Thanks! Quote
  16. I am the beneficiary and I have been married to a US citizen for 3+ years. I got my conditional green card more than 1 year after we got married. My conditional green card will expire this October. We have been together for 7+ years and were a happily married couple, until I found out that my husband had cheated on me, multiple times. I wanted to divorce him, but he wouldn't agree. Also, coronavirus pandemic started, and I completely lost the chance to get the divorce paper. But I am not going to stay married with him because after all, he betrayed me and lost my trust. Since my conditional GC will expire this october, I need to do something about it soon. I dont think I can get him to sign the divorce paper by July, when I would have to submit I751 to remove the condition WITH HIM (If I was happily married to him). Is there an option to submit I751 together, and while it is pending, we take a divorce and I submit the divorce decree as soon as the divorce is finalized, and amend it to the ongoing application? I dont know what to do at this point and it's very stressful. What should happen if Uscis calls us in for an interview when the divorce is in process? Would I get in trouble??
  17. Submitted ROC packet 3/7/2020 USCIS Received: 3/9/20 NOA1 Received: 3/16/20 with YSC**** case number Biometrics: awaiting notice for biometrics How long is the wait to get a notice for biometrics from Potomac? Also, are there petitioners here who were interviewed who originally have Potomac service centers and were interviewed previously during the AOS process?
  18. We will be mailing our ROC package next Monday, March 5th; been eligible since Feb 5th, I was waiting for our tax return which I got today. Happy 2018 to all and best of luck to us on our journey. **** I did not see a March 2018 thread, if there's one please merge ***** Please copy and complete the latest version of this table. 19. I received my N400 interview letter today, which will most likely be a combo ROC/N400 interview. My spouse's employer is refusing to give him the day off for the interview. We have three options as I see it: take the day off and risk being fired (bad, very bad), reschedule or go alone and have them set another date for the ROC interview. The thing is they have already rescheduled my interview once (their choice not mine) and it took three months to get another interview plus I cannot guarantee that my spouse's employer will give him that day off either. I know my husband has to be present for the ROC interview but I only got a N400 letter (as we all know, the interview is typically for both not just citizenship) so I can't prove to his employer that he needs to be present by law. Does anyone have any tips, hints, legal ideas to get his employer to cooperate? Other than shaming them for being incredibly anti-patriotic . TIA
  20. Hey guys I dont know if Im in the right topic but I will ask you this Friend of mine is getting a divorce and now He has a expired conditional green card and to make things worse the wife wont give him any help to remove the conditional status and all documents and proofs are with her, and wont give him any documents. My question is where could him start to renew it?
  21. Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me here. I completed my biometrics a few months ago for my ROC based on marriage. Currently waiting for the next step. My marriage has ended in divorce in the meantime and I want to send an amended I-751 with request for divorce waiver along with the final decree. First question: Does anyone know the best mailing address for the Nebraska Service Center? Second question: I included a lot of bona fide marriage evidence in the original packet. I'm going to send the form and decree along with a cover letter explaining why the marriage failed and why I want to remain in the States. Is there anything else I should send that might help my case? I've read that the majority of waivers are approved but I'd like to cover all the bases. Thank you.
  22. This thread is for everyone who filed 10 before their GC expiration date or after their GC expired. Please post your experiences!
  23. Hello everyone out there, My wife and I filed a joint i-751 petition 2 weeks ago because we were in the 90 days period, our marriage was going down but we were not sure we wanted to divorce, so we filed a joint petition. Now we are heading to divorce, unfortunately, she already filed. I received the NOA1 last week. I am looking to move out and change my address on the USCIS website, we expect the divorce will be finalized sometime around the end of the year or the beginning of 2017. I want to use the divorce waiver, but my question is, do I have to file a whole new application with all the supporting evidence? and pay a new fee again? and receive another NOA1? If so, can I ask them to return the old application to me so I can use the same evidence and just print and fill a new i-751 form? or can I ask them to amend my application to divorce waiver? Please your help is highly appreciated Thank you.
  24. I want to know if it is a big red flag not to have a joint bank account when you apply for ROC alone (due to a divorce). I am planning to divorce my husband because of infidelity, but I am still on conditional GC. I want to divorce him, and apply for ROC by myself. We have a very different way of spending money, where I save every penny and have some saving, whereas he overspends to the point that he asks me for money. He spends money on alcohol and legal drugs, which I am not happy about. So we have never commingled our finances, and I spend my own money, and he spends his (also he tries to beg me for money when he is short). We have a joint checking account, but we rarely use it. Mainly I deposit money in it, and he uses it. Is this a big red flag upon ROC? Can I still prove that our marriage is real? I have other evidence such as: 1) Lease with both of our names together (although we separated for half a year when I found out about his cheating on me) 2) My car insurance covering both him and me 3) My health insurance through my employer with him as the beneficiary 4) My dental/vision insurance through my employer with him as the beneficiary 5) My life insurance through my employer with him as the beneficiary 100% 6) Photos of us from multiple occasions (even when we were separated, we met from time to time) 7) Texts every day 8 ) Photos of us and his family together on special occasions 9) Join Tax return for 2017 and 2018. (We are planning to file jointly again for 2019, before the divorce occurs if that helps) 10) I can get a affidavit from my best friend who knows both of us really well, proving that our marriage is real. 11) Bills/Mails sent to our address. Is this enough, to cover the lacking of having a joint bank account? What else can we provide?
