  1. Hi all, I'm new to this site. My fiancé (Morocco) and I (US) are getting married this summer in Rabat. We will apply for the CR1 immediately after I change my name. About us: - age: he's 1 yr older than me - both of us have never been married or have any kids - I work full time and remotely so we're fine for proof of support - we met online in 2018, in person on two separate trips in 2019, then a third time again earlier this year - the trip this year was for our engagement, which included my parents meeting his family in morocco I'm curious to hear how the marriage process went for others, I've been reading a lot of horror stories - how long did it take for you to complete the marriage process? - my sister plans to witness when we're officially married if possible, will we know ahead of time (even the day before) when we can get married? do they set an appt to get married? or is it when we get approval from the judge, that's when we are married right then and there? - is this generally accurate? I've been combing through a bunch of sources online and the process seems so different for everyone 1. get all the necessary docs and translations 2. go to consulate appt in casablanca for the Affidavit of Nationality and Eligibility to Marry form(s) 3. get it stamped at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of External Affairs in Rabat 4. medical appts 5. police report 6. submit application to marry to an adoul to be certified 7. go to local courthouse marriage office to submit certified paperwork and wait until they tell you to return? 8. meet with an adoul who will ask you to sign a marriage contract 9. go to the police for clearance and wait for a report 10. take everything to a family judge who will then marry or tell you to return? 11. get multiple copies/translations of everything and apostille everything - any other advice or resources would be helpful! Sorry for the long post. Thank you all in advance
  2. I recently submitted all my documents to NVC and upon submitting these documents I realized that I had pages 8-10 twice in my police report replacing pages 5-6, which will be a obvious rejection once reviewed. I’m just trying to forecast how long it will take for them to review my documents once I uploaded the correct version ?
  3. Hey friends! I'm curious, at what point of the process do I go for my police background check/ clearance? I am the beneficiary and I live in Canada. I heard a lot of mix up and controversy about which type of forms you need (there are two options for this in Canada?) Do any of you happen to know exactly which form you need? Can you go to any RCMP building or must you go to specific ones that are required by the embassy (like the medical)? Does my husband (the petitioner) need a police check? Thanks!
  4. How long is the whole NVC process starting from case sent to department till end? Is it slower than USCIS? And is there anything important I need to know??
  5. Hello All, I am creating this topic to gain some knowledge of the process of getting my mother a PR here. She is currently in the US, and per USCIS, it does mention that i can concurrently submit I-130, and I-485. I have queries about the following, in hopes someone out-there can help me! 1. Should i submit both? or to be safe and cost effective should i use start with I-130? If i do only the I-130, will it impact her stay here? 2. Upon submission of one or both documentation, can she remain in the country or leave after 6 months of being here? 3. Is it possible to submit both documentations online? Appreciate your time and knowledge in this! Hope this thread will be helpful to other too!!
  6. Hey y'all Our petition finally got approved on September 12th! So, now we're waiting to start the NVC process but it's much more complicated than I thought it would be. I read through the wiki in regards to the processing. https://www.visajourney.com/wiki/nvc_process/ But could someone please dumb it down for me? Also, how long did this process take for you guys who have been through the processing? Please let me know Thank you guys always.
  7. My case status updated to "New card is being produced" on 10/2 night, It's supposed to change to "Case was approved" 1 or 2 days later. However, It haven't happened until now (10/5). Is it normal or should I do something? Any suggestion or explanation will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! 😶
  8. Hello, I am recent graduate of this year and I've applied for my EAD card to the USCIS office. I have waited until 75 days and on the 77th day my status was changed from "Case Received" to "Request for initial evidence was mailed". I have no idea why I'm getting this status. And if this is the case then why they took so long to acknowledge me about the same? I've called a couple of times to the USCIS center but they didn't tell me anything and I've to wait for their mail to come. Let's say If I get the mail and send them the documents that they need on the next day then, is it possible that they will expedite my process? or do I need wait again for again 70-75 days to get my EAD card? I have a job offer letter with me and I've already delayed my joining date twice and I've no idea if they will wait for me again. It is just so frustrating and looks like I'll lose everything that I've gained in last 2 years. Can you please advice me on this situation? Any help would be appreciable... Thank you!
  9. Hi all, Our CR1 case has been complete for a couple of a month and we have been waiting get an interview date for ages. 2 days ago, we got two notifications from NVC in our CEAC: (1) Appointment Cancellation Email that says " We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S.Embassy/Consulate General in SINGAPORE, SING. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time." The weird thing is that we NEVER got a notification for any interview being scheduled for us. (2) We got another notification soon after mentioning that our case has been documentarily qualified - which is the SAME message we got when our case got completed back in February. All our documents have been received and approved for ages. Why this mail again? Has this happened with anyone before? We changed our embassy location from Mumbai to Singapore on 3rd July - could this be because of that? Thoroughly confused. (2)
  10. Hi All, My husband lives in the Dominican and I am a US Citizen. We just got the NOA2 and are now waiting on processing from the NVC. Does the NVC packet get sent to my husband or to myself? Is it sent via mail or email? I ask because addresses in the DR are very different than here and I am not sure that the mail really works the way it does here in the US. I am sorry if this is a silly question but I want to make sure that he gets it. Thanks! Trisha
  11. Hi all, Maybe this topic is already ongoing somewhere here, but I could not find it so far. I would like to meet people who started their application for their spouse (IR-1/CR-1) visa this year 2019. Maybe we can help each other since some processes changed or taking longer. Me and my husband just recently send the I130(a) on February 14th, no reply or notification received so far. We are both living in the Netherlands, he moved here 4 years ago. We have found a sponsor for me since he has no income in the US at the moment. We are both working for an international company and we have the ability to transfer with the company as soon as we leave. Maybe we don't need a sponsor than after all. Does anyone knows how that works or the possibilities? If there is already a topic for these conversations I would like to hear it too!😊
  12. Hello everyone! I was wondering if I could apply for a F-1 Visa while my I-130 is pending? How would the process be like? Would I have to go through AOS? Please help!
