Hi, guys! Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's very helpful. I have a couple of questions. I got to the states on a k1. The doctor seemed to mess up my i-693 ( I didn't notice at the time ) because the one she handed to me is only one page and some parts of it are missing. We know there is another one in the packet but we are not supposed to open it but when I got to the states, the immigration officer didn't open out my packet or anything. 1) Can the fact that the officer didn't open up my packet bring me problems for AOS? 2) If not, should I open the packet and take the i-693? 3) If so, what should I do?
My k1 packet and k2 packets arrived and i was so excited. I knew beforehand to be careful with it and not to open the yellow envelope based from reading posts here. So i was diligent in removing our passports, carefully. I did it successfully and place the packets on a not so steady table top. The next day i saw my packet and it has a small tear in it. About 1-2 cm on the side. I'm thinking of calling the embassy but based on the things i read in here, i shouldn't worry with a small tear. So thats what I'm going to do. I'm set to leave next month. I'll keep you guys updated what will happen to me at my POE.
Hey, I received my immigrant visa in the mail in my passport a week ago. All that was sent to me was my passport alone, no visa packet or envelope. I got an email with info on how to read my visa and the annotations mine is “IV documents in CCD 212(g)(2)(B) “ but I’m worried that supposed to have a sealed packet to take with me. Everywhere I have read says there is a sealed packet. Help! The annotation table is below!
