  1. My husband was denied entry on his plane last night by Air Canada in the Lima, Peru airport. He had his passport, expired green card, and his I-797 notice of action showing that his green card is extended a year and he is authorized for travel while we wait for the removal of conditions on his green card. He also had an ETA (electronic travel authorization), which as far as I can tell, is all that is needed for a US permanent resident to travel to/through Canada. His flight goes through Toronto before entering the US. He was told that the I-797 was not a valid travel document. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any suggestions about what we can do to get him home? All Air Canada agents on the phone are very unhelpful, and they no agents arrive in the airport until 10pm, so he wasn't able to speak with anyone this afternoon. We're looking at other airlines, but don't want to pay an outrageous cost for a new ticket when there's no valid reason he's being denied entry.
  2. I file to remove conditions on residence on 12/22/2016 my case has been pending and it's currently outside normal processing times. My attorney file an e-request 3 weeks ago and I just received an email which says my case is currently been adjudicated and I should receive a notice of action within 45 days. Has anybody ever gotten this notice before?
  3. My husband is an LPR and he filed i-130 for me. FILING DATE: January 18, 2018 PRIORITY DATE: January 19, 2018 I-797c RECEIPT (NOA1): January 23, 2018 I am quite worried since we haven’t gotten the approval notice (NOA2) yet and the priority date for July 2018 for my country is already 01-Dec-2017. My question is, if my priority date is current but the i-130 is not yet approved. Can concurrent Filing be an option for us? Please advise. Thank you! https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/concurrent-filing-form-i-485
  4. Hello! I filled my I751 in January and yesterday I got in the mail Notice of Action I 757C which says: "US Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition or request. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometrics data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center for a biometric appointment. The biometric fee will not be refunded." Just want to make sure that I don't need to go for an appointment. Anyone else got a notice like this? Thanks
  5. We sent our I-751 priority which was received by Vermont Service Center on 4/12/18 and we still haven't received any notice of action, and our check hasn't been cashed yet. Is there anyone experiencing the same situation?
  6. Hi there, I just received my biometrics notice in the mail today for the form I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident)! However, there is something that confused me which is under the "Code" is written "5" !!!!! I'm so confused because from my research; there should be one of these codes (1,2,3): Code 1 - 10 finger prints Code 2 - Photo, Signature, Index finger print Code 3 - combo of code 1 & code 2 So, what is the deal with "Code 5" that I have on my notice?! Any idea? Thanks! Rere
  7. Hi everyone! I came across the problem that many seem to have which is what date should be considered the last valid date to enter US if your green card expired and you received an extension letter (notice of action I-797)? My GC expired last January,17 and I received a letter in December, 16. Currently I am out of state and getting ready to go back in December,17. My extension letter was issued on 12/12/16 and I am planning to enter country on 12/18/17 which is a week after the "expiration" of extension letter but a month before one year extension of GC. And yes, in letter it doesn't clarify what is considered the date to start counting from which makes me kinda worried as I read before it all depends on the mood of the officer I contacted my lawyer and now it's all clear! This year USCIS started issueing new variant of letter (i think due to confusion of everyone) where it says " Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year FROM the expiration date on your CONDITIONAL RESIDENT CARD"!! Here I attach the proof of it: I hope this information was helpful !!
