  1. How long is the oath ceremony in Des Moine including time taken on N445 questions and collecting the naturalization certificate ? Wife is planning on bringing toddler and 2yrs old, any suggestion ? Some one this forum suggested not taking the kids because they will bored.
  2. Hi all! I just received my N-445 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony and I'm so excited! I'm scheduled for an oath next Tuesday. I noticed that the name written on the N-445 has an error. I have two first names, but only one of them is in the letter. Does this mean that my naturalization certificate will only include one of my two first names? Will I still be given a chance to correct it? And if so, does that mean I will not be given the naturalization certificate on the day itself? Thank you in advance for the help!
  3. Here is the scoop. My naturalization application has been approved and am awaiting for my oath taking ceremony date. Unfortunately, I received a citation of possession of marijuana under an ounce along the drug paraphernalia in the same instance (but different offense). This is my first time getting a marijuana citation. I've read the USCIS rules, which say that there is an exception to the controlled substance charges if it is only single time offense of marijuana possession under 30gms. Here are my questions: If these are the only charges and there are no other charges (like to sell, or intent to distribute), should I plead guilty and pay all the fines and take the relevant paperwork to the oath ceremony? Should I fight the charges (can become expensive, which might be an issue)? I am more or less inclined to accept the conviction since it will fall under the exception category. Any help, suggestions is appreciated. Thanks much !!
  4. Hi, at the Oath Ceremony you submit the N-445. My paranoid question is, "Does USCIS check that the form is complete and to their satisfaction during the Oath Ceremony?" I mean, they give out the Naturalization Certificate at the end and I'm thinking what if I forgot to sign the form or something and it comes back to bite me later. They have time to check the forms during the ceremony so I was wondering if anyone is familiar with whether quality checks are done prior to handing out certificates. Would they ever write you later saying they found a missing signature or date (even after they gave out the Naturalization Certificate)? Thanks! See how paranoid this process makes you?!
  5. So, I spoke to USCIS officer few hours ago and told them that i have not received my oath ceremony yet that is scheduled for March 5, 2018. So the lady I talked to faxed me the oath ceremony letter but it only shows my name, the date and location of ceremony. This is going to be in the judicial court. I was wondering, if I dont receive the actual notice in the mail, can they print the form that I need to fill out at the court office???
