Hello, I'm J1 visa holder, my last day of the internship will be May 5, 2023, I'm subject to 2 years of residence in my country, so I'm applying to the J1 Waiver, my embassy just sent my No objection letter to the State Department. I'm also will get married. These are my questions: Should I get married before my J1 visa expired or can I get married during my 30 days grace period of the J1 visa? Can I apply right away when I get married, and apply for AOS (adjustment of status)? Do I need to leave the country or can I stay while I apply during the 30 days grace period?

B1/B2 Visa and then J-1 Visa allowed?

Hi there: I'm curious if it's okay to get a B1/B2 visa, live in the U.S. for 4 months (not working), and then apply for a J-1 or H1B Cap-Exempt visa through an academic institution. Would this cause any problems or raise any red flags? Thank you so much. -
Hi all, I applied for advisory opinion for 212(e) waiver on Nov 2, 2020. The US state portal suggest 212(e) finding letter has been sent on Nov 24, 2020. However, I haven't received the letter yet. I have called multiple times, no one picks up the phone. I have emailed at the given address- no response. Does anyone know how long does it takes to receive the letter once sent. Can I reapply for the advisory opinion? Thank you,

Hey everyone! I’m in the beginning stages of finding a traineeship and then apply for a J1. I’m not sure where to start from and how to secure a PAID traineeship with US host organization. Any tips? Also was wondering , what sponsor has allows a J1 waiver? As I’ll ultimately apply for that as well and I would like a sponsor who is less strict with this, if that makes sense. Oh, just for context. I’m a young professional in the UK

My J1 Visa is under Administrative Processing because my sponsor is Intrax and it is not subjected to PP 10052 from October but the Embassy need to check that information. Dec 31 2020 > Created DS 160 + scheduled appointment for Jan 05 2021 > CEAC : "Application Received" Jan 05 2021 > Assist to the Embassy Appointment > 1 hour after in my house in checked CEAC : "Refused" Jan 12 > CEAC: "Refused" to " Administrative Processing" Jan 21 > CEAC: " Administrative Processing" to "Application Received" What could happen next? In the K1's Forum "Application Received" means that in 2-4 days you will get a final answer, but a J1 is different case.
