My husband (Nigerian native) is in the beginning steps of becoming a naturalized citizen (paperwork filed, waiting for next steps); however, I would like to file our taxes separately this year. Is this wise? Can it be done? We have filed for the last three years. Married for four years. Also, how long does it typically take for them to approve naturalization? Thanks.
Don Lawan posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHello, I have a question regarding one of the supporting documents required for I-134 which is the petitioner’s or sponsor’s income tax return. As the petitioner or sponsor, do I need to send my fiancée my ORIGINAL TAX for her to bring for her actual consulate interview? Or I can just send her the PHOTOCOPY of my tax? Thank you
Hi vjers, i would like to ask about the correct status to be indicated on me and my husbands W4 IRS form. Me and my husband is MArried 01/M-1 on our W4. We are now married for 2 years. During the 1st year of tax filing as married, its only my income reflected. And so we were able to get a refund. On 2nd year of tax filing, we filed jointly (i think we have to because it has to reflect on the form for removal of condition purposes),we both have incomes but we paid tax. I think this is because we have high income? how should we file or income tax for us to have a refund? what should be our W4 status.? we do not have any dependent. Please help. Thank you.
