Hi guys, would really appreciate your help on these two questions: 1) For those who have recently been DQ, how long is it currently taking for the US Embassy in Hong Kong to schedule interviews? (If I check the timelines and forums back in 2021, it feels like a 2-3 month timeline is safe to assume) 2) And what is the usual interval between the appointment letter and the actual interview? (3-4 weeks from what I see) I'm leaving Hong Kong for a few months and since flying back to Hong Kong has become complicated because of the changing quarantine measures, I'd want to time it as precise as I can right after I get DQ. Thanks so much!! Any help will be super appreciated

Hi there, I am trying to apply a green card for my mother. She is currently residing in Hong Kong. My I-130 has been approved and just got a NVC number. I am in the process of gathering the civil documents, and one of the document is "certificate of no criminal conviction". In Hong Kong consulate's website, it clearly stated "Please do not request that the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction be sent directly to the National Visa Center, as this may cause delays in your case." (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/HongKong.html). However, from the Hong Kong police department's website, it stated "Upon receipt of complete application documents and the required processing fee, we shall issue the Certificate and send it directly by registered mail of the Hongkong Post to the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority. Applicants will NOT receive any copy of the Certificate." (https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/11_useful_info/cert_no_crime_overseas.html). If the Hong Kong police department refused to send me a copy of Certificate of no criminal Conviction, I then can't scan it and upload it to CEAC. Is anyone here from Hong Kong and can shed some light what you did?

Hi all, I've been living in the USA since I was a child and never left the country until recently I flew back to Hong Kong (my birth place) to do consular processing. So when I submitted my documents to NVC I didn't submit a police certificate from Hong Kong because based on ustraveldocs it says: So based on this statement, I did not submit a police certificate from HK because again I've been living in the US since I was a child and so I did not live in HK for 6+ months after 16 years old. I got DQ'd so I thought everything would be okay. My interview at the consulate is in two weeks and I'm afraid whoever interview me will ask for a police certificate from HK. Do I just tell them about this clause from the document I found on ustraveldocs? Also, I was never able to obtain it because one of the criteria is to get a personalized checklist from the embassy telling me I need a police certificate, which I never received. Am I safe to assume everything is going to be okay assuming I have every other necessary document?

Hi all - looking to see if anyone had experience moving their interview to a Canadian embassy within the last 6 months. I am a Canadian citizen but currently reside in Hong Kong but want to move to the US asap due to my wife/sponsor's job. I am currently waiting for NVC to consider me documentary qualified. I have a few questions: My understanding is to contact the embassy in Canada to request the transfer of the interview. Is this the correct method? Is it recommended to start that transfer process before or after being documentary qualified? How long does the whole transfer of the case process take? Are there any estimations on the current wait time for the Canadian embassy for interviews? Thanks all!

Hello - I received notification that I was documentarily qualified on 23rd November 2021. I am now waiting for NVC to schedule an appointment with the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong. Does anybody know how long it takes for the NVC to arrange an appointment with the consulate in Hong Kong? Thanks very much.
