  1. Hi, I think we sent the original affidavit of support with the petition to the USCIS. Do I reprint it, sign it again and bring it to the interview? (I'm going with my fiance). I looked up the form and it has has an expiration date of October or November 2018 so how can I print a new one? Also do I need to use my tax transcripts from 2018? I haven't filed taxes yet. Any help would be great.
  2. Hi all, I am a K1 VISA beneficiary, I am now married, and I'm finally able to sit down and start the AoS application. I have read the guide on here, as well as the instructions on the I-485, I-131, and the I-765. In the beginning I thought I only had to file these three forms, and file them together. (with all of my evidence of course) I'm not always the best at filtering through the correct information but I do my best, but somehow I've now ended up with 7 different forms, and I was just wanting to check that I had it right, and that they were all necessary. My queries are with regards to the following forms: I-130 (Is this to be filed separately, or with the the I-485, I-131, and the I-765) I-130a (as above) I-693 (Does this go with the I-485 as "evidence", or does this get given at the interview?) My paranoia is usually fueled by how old the original posts are, and what updates are applicable etc. I'm almost confident I'm on the right path, I was just hoping for further clarification from anyone who has submitted these forms recently, and how the journey has been so far. Thanks all in advance.
  3. Hi there, we received out NOA2 a few weeks ago and are looking into the required documents, is there an actual complete list of every document requirement? My boyfriend (The petitioner) is getting bent out of shape because some sites mention needing a W-2 for the affidavit of support and some don't mention the W-2 at all as part of the Affidavit (I-134) form and it's difficult just trying to find a list of every document needed that should be sent to me. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey friends! I'm curious, at what point of the process do I go for my police background check/ clearance? I am the beneficiary and I live in Canada. I heard a lot of mix up and controversy about which type of forms you need (there are two options for this in Canada?) Do any of you happen to know exactly which form you need? Can you go to any RCMP building or must you go to specific ones that are required by the embassy (like the medical)? Does my husband (the petitioner) need a police check? Thanks!
  5. Im a US citizen. Im trying to bring my parents to USA. I filed 2 forms i-130. It got approved and Im waiting for NVC to respond and in the meantime Im filling out the affidavit of Support I-864. Here are my questions. 1. Like I-130, do i need to file 2 forms for I-864, each for my father & my mother. 2. On PART 3 Item 2 I mentioned my mother as family member #1. Does this mean I don't need another I864 ?
  6. I am noticing that some of the various visa assistant/processing consultants & services online saying that the because of the current (Trump) administration's "crackdown on immigrants" (not my words), that if there are errors on the forms a higher percentage of immediate denials will be issued by USCIS and they will not bother with sending any RFE (Request for Evidence) and NOID (Notice of Intent to Deny) notices to allow these corrections to be made. My first thought is that this is merely a sales tactic to "scare" us into paying for their services; I actually had one of these consultants tell me this on the phone and they then made an me immediate offer & discount to "act before things get worse". Is this truly the case or am I right? Please, I am not looking for comments about Trump or politics as this is not the place for that, only sincere replies to my question... Thanks!
  7. Hello, I see on the checklist for submitting Form I-129F now that a copy of all pages of my current passport which must be VALID FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS is sufficient in lieu of my birth certificate in submitting my K-1 petition (I filed both in the past)- I renewed my passport back on Feb 28, 2013 and is valid for the 10 year period until Feb 27, 2023 (see attached photo), so as you can see, just over 6 months ago it surpassed the 5 year mark, so will this be considered unacceptable or will they just go by the fact that the year 2018 is the 5 year point regardless of the month/date? I can get my birth cert with no issue as my birthplace is only a few hours away (ordering by mail needs be notarized, etc.) but it's just one less thing I would have to do... Thanks!
  8. I have another question for the helpful knowledgeable folks here ; I know that I must include passport size photos for myself and my fiance when filing the I-129F however I see nothing regarding photos for children; Her 2 daughters are 3 and 5 years of age; Am I required to submit passport size photos of them as well? Also there is the chance I MAY petition for my fiance ONLY now and her children within a year; How do I mention this when filing? Thanks!
  9. I have decided that I will still file a K-1 Fiance Visa (Form I-123F)- In the past Forms G-325 (Biographic Info) and the Affidavit of Support (I-134 I think?) were required also; I know the G-325 is no longer required however is the I-134 still? And what else is still required such as my birth certificate, a photocopy of my passport, passport size photos of both of us, etc? I am asking because it appears that so much of the info / instructions on the USCIS website is outdated- Thanks!
  10. I'm preparing my wife's RoC I-751 application and I see that the filing fee is $505. Is says an $85 biometric services fee is required for petitioner. However, the instructions also say that it is required for conditional residents, but not lawful permanent resident spouses. This being RoC, my wife has the two-year green card and is a conditional permanent resident. Which category would she fall into: needing to pay the biometric services fee or not? Thanks!
  11. Hello I have been trying to sign and finish my N 400 application online , and I keep getting a 500 error that the page doesn't exist or it's unavailable??? This is crazy, I tried different browsers, clear all cookies and nothing, please help!!!! I don't know what to do. I called them and they say that I already did what they were going to tell me, 😐, anyone having this problem, helppppp Thanks
  12. I submitted a question to a different forum category regarding the multiple filer waiver and was also commenting that I see that things have possibly changed since I filed previously (Twice: 2008 & 2014) and it was suggested that I sent some things with the initial I-129F that altho did not delay anything they were not necessary at that point- In the past I also included with the I-129F form both (Mine, the petitioner and hers, the beneficiary) of our G-325 / Biographical Info forms as well as my I-134 / Affidavit of Support form; Are these required at this point or are they to be submitted later? As I mentioned in my previous blog, both of my cases were approved within approx 7 months with no delays or issues... Thanks again much for your input!
  13. Hey everyone, My husband and I are preparing the file our AOS packet within the next week or so. I noticed that the i-130 Form available on the USCIS website expires on 7/31/18. As we plan to submit our paperwork prior to that expiration date, I'm afraid of the form being rejected as they will most likely not review it by the time it expires. Did anyone experience the same when planning to submit their forms? Do you think I should be OK to submit the form (with the date filled out and signed prior to the form's expiration) or just be on the safe side and await the new version to be posted to the website? Thank you!
  14. Hey you beautiful people, Here is the situation. I (American) just got married to my love (Swedish) and we currently live in Sweden but are looking to move back to Colorado as soon as possible. I "think" that I have found everything but I want to run it by you guys to see what I am missing for the CR1 petition. *I-130 *I-130A *G-1145 *Cover Letter *Copy of US Birth Certificate or US Passport *Copy of Marriage Certificate (in English) *Divorce Documents (she was previously married) *2 Passport photos of me *2 Passport photos of her *Evidence of a Bonafide Marriage............. (not sure what all to gather for this) And should be sent to USCIS P.O. Box 804625 Chicago, IL 60680-4107 And must we pay before we send the application or after we are approved? I am really sorry if this seems a bit annoying, but I want to be crystal clear when sending in all of this information. Any links or official websites would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and Cheers.
  15. Hi Everyone! Kinda confused with form i-1864 for the question Part 6 Item 7(Current Individual Annual Income). My Current Individual Income, My w2 last year was only $21,000 and we are a household of 3 However I have a second job now and If will add them up I could be around $35,000 range now, should I put my annual income now or still used what I made last year from W2? And one more thing, my co sponsor only made 24000k last year but we are living in the same address, if we add our w2, we are in the $45,000 range, are we above the guideline or should find another sponsor or we are good to go? Thank you.
  16. We are currently two months into our initial wait time for the package we sent to the USCIS for the K1 visa. I am starting to have worries regarding the tax forms. Our sponsor is self emplyed so we only sent my sponsor's tax return forms. He does not have any W-2. I am now reading that a bank statement is also necessary? Or is that for when my Fiance does her visa interview? If My package is wrong in any way, will USCIS just trash it or will they contact me and give me a chance to fix it? Any help to ease my mind would be much appreciated.
  17. Is the Form DS-230 and Form DS-160 required to send in with the I-129F for the K1 visa? And what are their purposes? I have no idea what the DS-230 is for, except maybe it has to do with requesting to bring other family members with you into the country you are moving to (after getting married)? And the Form DS-160 is really confusing me, because what is the purpose of it? I thought the USCIS only wanted papers of all this stuff, not an additional ONLINE form too? Makes no sense. Am I, the petitioner, not suppose to fill this out? Thanks. This is where I'm discovering this information: http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples/
  18. Hi everyone, I have a topic earlier to ask about getting married while being an au pair. TLDR: I'm almost at the end of my first year as an au pair. I got married last week and everything was fine. Now I'm filing to apply for a green card. I have everything ready but still have some questions about the forms: 1. Some forms require my employment status, and to be honest I don't know how to put it down. I put in current employment as unemployed because my host and I agreed that my au pair time ended when I got married. But for previous employment, do I put my host and their address as my employer? Note that we have not filed any tax yet on this au pair program, and the agency did not inform anything to us about that matter. 2. Should the copies of papers (like birth certificate, passport, etc.) be the same size and colors as the originals? Some of my copies are bigger/smaller than originals, and I wonder if black and white copies are fine. I used the black and white copy of my birth certificate to apply for a driver's license, and they asked me for the original, which I didn't have. 3. We are filing my I-485 together with his I-130 and everything else. Do I need to put them in different packages, or just 1 is enough? 4. Is there a form for letter from people who witness the love story as supports for my case, or it's just a normal letter with their signs? 5. We are going to move to a new address next month, and have some other stuffs under both of our names like bank accounts, cars, lease, bills, etc. How do I send them as an addition for my application? We're pretty time sensitive now so I can't wait for them to be done before sending out the application. Thank you so much for reading and I really appreciate any help on these questions!
  19. Hello We need help, on this journey We jusy start to filing oor package, can someone confirm if the following forms are the one we nee I485 I130 1864 I765 I693 We need guidance in this process, and also the fees
  20. Hello! I'm really new to this. My fiance' and I have decided to complete the application process on our own to save money. He is from Nigeria, but currently resides in South Korea. There is a huge language barrier between him and the Korean natives. He speaks English but has a VERY thick accent and it's very difficult for them to understand him no matter how hard he tries. I know this because when I was there, they understood my accent much better. Any who, I'm hoping that someone out here can help us with a few things. 1. Does anyone know how to transpose (I think that's the right word) a Korean address into an American format? He had the address translated to English, but I am confused as to which of the address would be considered the "street address" and "city and state" etc. 2. For the letter of intent needed from my fiance' does it have to be a wet signature on it? Meaning if he types it up and prints it out, does he have to sign in and mail it to me in snail mail or is there a version of the form that I can use from email? 3. On the letter of intent, which address do I use in the heading? Do I use the Lockbox Intake address or do I use the local USCIS office that will actually be processing the application? If so, how do I find that address? I'm in Birmingham, AL. The office address that I found on Google was not an option in my profile so I am concerned that I have the wrong address. ANY assistance with these would be so appreciated! Thanks :-)
  21. Hello fellow VJ's, First time posting, not sure if this is in the right place, if not, apologies. While filling out the AoS forms the doubts started to creep up on how to fill out the Last/First/Middle name boxes. I have 5 names and not sure which format to use or if there is a format at all? Is it at the fillers discretion as it long as it matches throughout all forms? Should I, for example, put my first name in first name box, second name in the middle name box and the rest of the names in the last name box? Also, on the i-693, the name boxes are in nearly every page. Are they filled by me or by the Dr? I'm sure these is only the first of my many doubts, I appreciate the help and input. Thank you!
  22. I am at NOA2 and waiting for my medical on the 30th January 18. So my interview is coming up soon after which requires me to hand in the I-134 form . We didn't file a sponsor in the I-129f form. This is because my partner earns around 30k a year after tax deductions (40 hour weeks at 16p/h atleast). He started it last year and it is a permanent position. However we are growing increasingly concerned. He has December off as it is seasonal work so he filed for unemployment with a set return date (8th January). He did a week from the 8th in the warehouse for more training. However he's not worked anymore since. And it's not likely he will this week. He is still employed. But weather conditions puts restrictions on their job as it's agricultural. Can my visa be denied for this? I am very worried. I can provide bank statements as I have funds to support my move. I have around £7650 saved for the move and my partner has £2000 of my money in another investment account building interest in the USA for when I move. I am hoping to put as much of the savings together as I can to take the statement and show them I am able to fund my entire move. He is of course also giving a letter from his employer and bank account details. If we put forward all of this is this a risk? We are just in a hard situation for money due to seasonal work on his end however I have enough savings to fund my entire move. And I will be applying for a work permit as soon as possible.
  23. I am filling the I-485 form and in the page 3 of 18 there's a question that says: Are you applying for adjustment based on Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 245(i)? Then it says if you selected yes, you MUST have select family based visa and since k1 is a family based one I don't know if I should select yes, although I really don't know what they mean. What did you select there?
  24. She and I got our petition ready, sent in our papers. She's coming to live with me. I have everything sorted. But she wants to know if there's anything she will need to pay for, as far as the next step. When we're approved, she read she needs a background check, updated vaccines, her two cats need updated shots and everybody needs a physical. She has her B.Cert and we're just waiting on the approval for the interview. What costs could she expect, so we can budget better? At that, will I need to budget some unknowing costs in? (Other than the 250 interview fee, of course) Thanks everybody! -Tommy
