  1. Hi all! I would like to share with everyone what I did after receiving the visa interview eligibility letter from the US Embassy in Manila: I sent an e-mail confirming that I have completed my DS-160, as instructed in the letter. I'd like to show y'all how I wrote the e-mail and how the Embassy responded; just so you guys would get an idea of what worked for me and what to expect. I know this matter a trifle, but maybe it'll help someone out there anyways. To give you an idea of my progress, here is my timeline summary (2019): Sent I-129F - Jan. 24 NOA1 - Jan. 30 (6 days) NOA2 - Apr. 18 (78 days) Case# - May 9 (21 days) Ready - Jun. 3 (25 days) Eligibility Letter - Jun. 6 (dated), but received in the mail Jun. 14 The eligibility letter says: "...You should notify the Embassy by e-mail at support-philippines@ustraveldocs.com once the DS-160 has been completed." and: "When communicating with the Embassy by telephone, e-mail, letter, or fax, always refer to your name, case number and visa category as they appear below. Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit" (Your info comes right after this part) With these in mind, here is a template of how I constructed my e-mail: Notes: (1) For the header, I inserted Visa: K1 as it was not on the bottom section. (2) I attached the 2-page PDF file of the Confirmation Page, not just page 1 (although I think they only needed that one, I went for the safer route). (3) I sent the e-mail on Friday afternoon and got the response Monday afternoon. After 1 business day, this was the embassy's e-mail response: Welp. That's me trying to be useful. 😂 Good luck to everyone!
  2. Hi all, so I wanted to update the primary applicant’s email address as well as add the email for the petioner and third party agent(me) in the CEAC. However, when i do that, it says “updating...” and it tells me to check back in an hour to make sure its updated. When I check back in an hour, everything is back to the way it was before, no updates does anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks!
  3. Hi, My fiance received an RFE letter in the mail after 5 months. Before the letter was delivered we were speculating that the RFE might be about the case of my fiance that happened 20 years ago where he plead guilty to a case of groping a minor. Luckily, it was that (the USCIS had asked for me to submit my letter of intent to marry my fiance), my fiance gladly complied and mailed the letter the next day. My question is, does the USCIS normally sent all RFEs at once and if they are satisfied with the letter of intent to marry that we mailed thats it? That we only need to wait for their confirmation? Or will there be another RFE that might be mailed later on which might be related to my fiance case history 20 years ago? It wasn't a rape or physical abuse but groping and all his records were deleted. Please enlighten me as everyday that we are waiting for the update from the USCIS is putting a lot of stress on me and my fiance. Thank you.
  4. Hi All, After my N-400 application got approved I took US Citizenship Oath on 10/10/18 and received the Naturalization Certificate the same day. The next day i received an email from USCIS regarding my N-400 application stating the following: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL *** There has been a recent processing action taken on your case. Receipt Number: IOExxxxx Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION Your Case Status: Decision On October 11, 2018, we issued your Certificate of Naturalization for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number IOE0xxxxxxx. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision. Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case. Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times. Sincerely, **** The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) *************** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since after this email I have not received any (approval/denial) letter either in the mail or email its been over 2 weeks. Just to give you a little background ..... on the Oath letter which i received there were some question on the back of it where you have to say yes/no to the some questions. So i have selected yes to one of the question where it ask "If i have traveled outside the US since i have been interviewed." Since i did traveled for 2 and half months so i mentioned the dates right next to the question as supervisor asked me to do so, then he asked me several questions regarding my whereabouts like where i have been traveled too, and what if I have kept my job in US while i was gone and if I own the house or renting a place and so on. But he (the supervisor) never asked for any of the proofs of that trip. Even though I did took all the proofs along with me (my rental lease, my car insurance, my utility bills, tax returns, paystubs, bank statements, etc...) along with me to justify my continuous resident in US while i was gone, but supervisor didn't ask for anything as i mentioned earlier and he simply put his remarks on the Oath Letter (form) and i was asked to go and take the oath so i did and got the Naturalization certificate and also registered for the voter registration right there. On the same day I also applied for my US passport and I have already got it in within 17 days. So i am not sure what is the purpose of this email which i have received just a day after the Oath? Is there anything to worry about? PS. I have taken the Oath on 10-oct and in the email they mentioned the Certificate of Naturalization was issued on 11-oct isn't it strange. I was wondering if anyone had a similar scenario or experience kindly please share Thanks !
  5. We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time Has anyone gotten an email like this after they sent in an RFE? "WE ARE STILL REVIEWING YOUR CASE" ? I think it was lucky we got an update that they received our documents, and its been close to 20 something days since we sent it back with no response, but now we get this email? I'm grateful they took the time to send one at all but now i'm worried this means the approval will take long. If anyone else got an email like this while waiting for an IR1/CR1 approval please tell me how long after was your case reviewed/approved. Thank.you!
  6. Hello, here I am again. So here is my concern. This morning I received an email from NVC (PLEASE SEE EMAIL BELOW). I have checked the status on ceac.state.gov and it says that our case is still "In Transit". I called USEM and I was advised to wait for the next email stating that I can already set up an appointment for an interview. Once the status is already "Ready" in the ceac.state.gov and we don't get the letter or email from NVC or USEM. Should I go ahead and just get a screenshot of this and bring it to the interview along with this email that I received today? Are these letters required to be brought in the interview? Or should I just wait for the NVC confirmation letter or USEM letter? I read a lot of people stating that the letter from NVC or USEM did not come. Just worried and I want to start whatever I can do from here on to avoid delays. Thank you. Sorry for asking lots of questions. I've bee anxious about the process. Hehehe. Peace! Dear ********, The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Manila, Philippines. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition. Next steps: Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview. Please keep the following information for your records: Case Number: MNL********** USCIS Receipt Number ************* Principal Applicant: ******** ***** Petitioner: ****** ***** ******* Interview Location: Manila, Philippines Post Address: U.S. Embassy 1201 Roxas Boulevard Manila Philippines Thank you for your patience in the immigrant visa process. Sincerely, U.S. Department of State National Visa Center
  7. Hey all, I have received this email from USCIS 3 days ago (I filed for AOS one year ago and was at "Scheduling your interview" phase for about 10-11 months): - What is "Testing and interview", is this simply the interview? - This update does not show on the "dhs" website but only in the "egov" website, but usually the dhs website is much more updated so that's weird right? - How long should I wait for the interview notice to arrive by mail before contacting USCIS and asking where is it? (I don't want to accidentally miss the interview because I failed to receive the piece of paper via mail...) - How long before the actual interview do they usually send this notice? Thanks!
  8. I received an email from the US consulate in my country (located in Sydney), which is very exciting. It asks me to create a profile on USTravelDocs which includes completing the DS-160. Who else has received this email before and if so is there a time limit in which I can complete these steps? Thanks!
  9. Greetings everyone. For IR-1 immigrant visa applicants who will interview at the USA embassy in Amman, Jordan, should we send AOS and civil documents to NVC by E-mail or by ground mail? I appreciate it if someone from Jordan who already dealt with the NVC can shed light on this from their experience. I am asking because I received contradictory information from the NVC. A couple of weeks ago, we emailed the NVC asling about whether we should mail or email the AOS and civil documents to them. They responded that "Your assigned embassy or consulate does not participate in the NVC's electronic processing program. Therefore, you cannot submit forms or documents by email. Instead, you should send your documents to us by mail to this address...etc". However, after completing the form DS-260 online, I checked the status of my application. The guidelines indicate that I should scan and send the documents by E-mail as one PDF file. Also, NVC's website guidelines indicates that case numbers starting with AMM are required to submit by email. Your help is appreciated as we are trying to avoid unnecessary delays by filing using the wrong method.
