  1. My husbands documents have just been approved by NVC. He is from EL Salvador can anyone tell me how long after documents are approved do they schedule the appointment?
  2. So my husband went for his first interview at the Consulate in El Salvador on September 4th 2019 I was there with him. He was handed a paper and the lady said congrats you are approved your passport will be available in 7-10 days at the Cargo Expreso you chose. Well 2 weeks, 3 weeks went by and nothing I began emailing and all I was told was it was in AP which to my understanding was normal but not for that long for approvals. My husband has no criminal background, zero tattoos, no medical issues, never been in a gang etc. We got an email and they requested a second interview at the consulate on Oct 3rd at 2pm. He received the email from FPUSS which with my investigating is Fraud Prevention Unit San Salvador. I found it weird because they weren't requiring me to attend so it wasn't a marriage fraud and all the threads I read were due to tattoos and he has zero. He went to his interview and he said it was around 45-1 hour long and they questioned his life in El Salvador prior to coming to the US. They were extremely focused on his father which has been dead for almost 9 years and was killed by gang members. My husband left El Salvador before 18 years of age due to the violence and the crime. They kept asking him why he liked Nike years ago, why they killed his dad, and about a brother he doesn't speak to. They drilled and drilled him and asked if he was a gang member etc. Told him they knew about his family in the US and facebook and this and that he said that's fine I will give you access to get into my facebook if youd like. They told him no need. At the end he said they told him in a week or so he would get an email with next steps, denial, or approval. Now mind you he was already approved at his first appointment. Now we are just waiting I haven't been able to find anything on someone with a similar situation. Has anyone been through this? Most of the stories I see are they are given a 221g paper, tattoos, etc but that's not the case with my husband. I guess its a waiting game now.
  3. I am a U.S. citizen by birth. My wife and I have been together for over six and a half years (married over one and a half) and she has had TPS since she was around 14. We've been going through the process of getting her permanent residency and had our interview in El Salvador at the beginning of June. When we got the email notifying us of the interview, we had about two weeks to get everything together (including an in-country medical exam) before the date they gave us. We managed to get everything they listed, even stuff that had to be done in El Salvador. However, when we got to the interview, the consular officer asked for TPS proof going all the way back to before she was 18. Now, the email mentioned needing her proof of TPS (we had her current one and her previous one with us), but not every single time she had ever registered for it. Additionally, we went through two document checks before the interview and not only was it not mentioned, they gave us back stacks of other documents at each check saying they already had this or that and wouldn't need it. The consular officer said we would be approved, pending that single piece of information, which he would "look up today" (meaning on the interview date). He said we would receive an email either way letting us know if he could find it. Also, he said if we could get photocopies of the proofs, to send them to the embassy in case he couldn't find it. We got a green sheet and an orange sheet from the officer. That night, we got photocopies of the proofs and sent them with the green sheet first thing the next morning. Today, we're over a month after the interview and not only did we not get any notice from the consular officer, any attempt we've made to contact the embassy/consulate are met with "canned" responses and no real information. They still have her passport and any documents they kept from that day. My wife has been a teacher in Texas under TPS for about 10 years and has no criminal history. She doesn't have anyone she knows in El Salvador and I had to return home for work. Currently, another family member from my side volunteered and went down to stay with her, but we are very eager to get her home. Does anybody have any experience with this or know anything that might be able to help us get her home more quickly? Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance.
  4. I submitted all my paperwork and an email was send on June 27th that all my paperwork was complete “quality documented”. Do you know how long does it take to get an interview? In addition, I’m living in the U.S already and have a work permit since a minor, therefore, I don’t need a waiver.
  5. I’m a US citizen and trying to bring my mom from El Salvador, I submitted all my civil and financial documents to through CEAC website, and on April 10th I got an email saying that all my documents were approved, but they also send me a message on CEAC website asking me for all my W-2, which I submitted on April 11. So I was wondering how long they are going to take to review the new documents so I can finally get my CC.
