  1. This is a question for the I-751/N-400 combo filers from Chicago, it seems like in Chicago there isn't a combo interview for your I-751 and N-400. From the looks of it or at least from reading 2-3 online experiences, it seems like you first have a N-400 interview, then an I-751 joint interview followed by another N-400 where you are finally approved . This seems to be causing significant delays as opposed to waiting out for the I-751 approval and then applying for the N-400.Perhaps I am getting the timelines wrong, but can anyone from Chicago who applied for their N-400 while their I-751 was pending share their experiences ?
  2. Hello everyone! So, I realize this question has been addressed in other posts, but I really need some advice here. We are getting ready to file our I-130 petition. I've talked to a few people about evidence to prove that a relationship is bona fide, and everyone has always said to send as many photographs as possible, because it would make the whole process run smoother. Well, we've prepared a photo album loaded with roughly 400 photographs. There are ten photos to a page, so there are about 40 pages total. After reading a few similar threads, I'm now getting a little worried that this is a little overkill. We put a LOT of time into creating this album (it also has timelines, itineraries, tickets, etc.), so it would seem like an awful waste to just send a page or two after all that effort. My question is, would it count against us, or negatively affect our application if I went ahead and just sent the entire album? Thanks for any advice!
  3. Hello Chicago 2018 N-400 Filers, Lets get connected and it will help in understanding where the Chicago office is right now in processing 2018 filings.
  4. Hi there, My Welsh husband and I filed for ROC in June of 2017 and hadn't heard anything about our case until a letter came last week asking us both to attend a I-751 interview in the middle of September. So far in the I-751 June 2017 filers forum, I haven't really seen anyone else be called for an interview. Has anyone else experienced this, specifically in Chicago? We also applied for N-400 in May of 2018, so someone had said this was possibly a joint interview for I-751/N-400, but the form only mentions the ROC so I'm not sure if this is actually a possibility. Any information about ROC interviews would be helpful as I've looked through the forum but haven't found too much. I thought my paperwork was super thorough and proved we were a legit couple but now I'm wondering if they noted a red flag or something (there is no reason that I can think of for us to be red flagged however) and that is why we are being called. Thanks!
  5. Hi, I filed for my greencard in Chicago from a K1 visa AOS (november 2017) and got my work permit card on the mail and everything. My bio appt. happened in december but I haven't received any notices for an interview on the mail and my I-485 never changed from "fingerprint fee received". I sent out an inquiry about the status of my case but no answer so far. Is anyone else going through the same thing? Is there anything else I should do?

    HELP WITH FEES

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend. After waiting 14 months for an immigration interview, we finally got a date of April 20th. I know we are going to need to make some final payments, and I went online to see where and how I make those payments and of course, my brain went into melt mode. I know there is a fee for the medical exam, but is that all we pay for in London? When do we pay for the final parts of the visa? After the interview? I am just so confused and the USCIS websites do not dumb it down enough for me to find anything. TIA for the help! <3 Stefanie
  10. What are all the fees needed to be paid after I-130 approval for child of U.S citizen mother under 21 (one boy is 14 and another is 17). I haven't been approved yet, but I want to prepare financially. I've only just started, application was sent to Potamac service center, although I'm not sure if that center is slow or not for IR-2 ; they received it on Feb 6th (don't have physical NOA1, but I did call and they gave me the receipt numbers that says received on feb 6th so that's probably my PD)
  11. Hey I really want to get some general info about citizenship. I'll be thankful if someone would help me in coping with this. My husband is eligible for citizenship since 3 years. He's now going to apply for it soon. He applied for me in last June under F2a. What's the processing time for chicago for N-400 these days? And what date is current for N-400 Chicago Illinois? In which category I'll get my visa soon? IR or F2a, including his N-400 whole processing time. Thought weve already been spend 7months under F2A category. So getting citizenship would really help? Kindly suggest!!!
  12. Hey everyone, I'm really worried about my visa and interview. I got married to a permanent resident of USA back in January'2017. They filed my petition in last june. He lives I Chicago basically, so is it going to take very long? Like i read somewhere it can take up to several years. I'm already dying lol. I just want to be with him. And yes, hes eligible for his citizenship since years. But due to some reasons he didn't take that. Now hes thinking to get his citizenship, will this make any difference? Cuz it'd take 6 months for naturalization process and then I'll have to go through the process of IR too! Need some suggestions and prayers. kindly share your experiences too!
  13. Hey everyone, I couldnt find any discussion for june'17 filers! So I started this thread. Keep joining and don't forget to share your timlines. When we are expected to get noa2?
  14. Hi there, I filed for AOS off of a K1 Visa on December 20th, 2016, and I still have not received a single word about my RFE for the medical part of the AOS package. I remember back in July I was telling people that I would have my green card by the end of August or early September at the latest. After watching cases in Chicago be approved within 6 or 7 months, I was super confident that I was going to be joining them in that same time frame. Especially when I'm coming from Canada and literally 8 hours from my old home in Canada. I really don't get what's going on at all. I've been calling USCIS and they keep saying that Chicago is "delayed" and that "your case is definitely outside the suggested time frame". The last time I called USCIS 2 weeks ago, the lady I talked to sent in a service request but I haven't received anything back yet. I hate sitting here Mondays to Fridays waiting for the mail to come and never finding anything for me. Does anybody have any idea what could be going on? Mike
  15. Filed my N400 beginning of July (end of June possibly not 100% sure) Had my fingerprints done July 27th. On July 31st I checked my status saying that I am in line for an interview. Since then I have heard nothing. Since it shows that I am in line for interview I assume that my fingerprints were completed. Anyone else from the Chicago office that filed around the same time as me waiting for their interview? I'm unsure if it matters but I filed by mail rather than online. thanks!
