  1. Hello, I hope you're doing all well. My fiancé and I are planning to get married in Algeria. When we went to the city hall, they gave us a list of required documents. I have some questions regarding some of them, please help : 1- Capacity of marriage cetrificate : Where do you get this certificate. while calling the embassy in Algiers, they told us that they don't provide it. 2- Proof that my fiancé is single : is there a document he can get from there (USA). 3- Where do you certify all the papers before coming to Algeria please? Do you need to certify them at the Algerian embassy as well ? and how many copies should he make. Please share your experience with us. Appreciated thank you,
  2. Hi everyone. Some of you may remember that I was living in Algeria with my husband for the past 2 years. I've moved back to the states recently and have established domicile. We are in month 10 of our journey and waiting patiently for our NOA2. (We're at hellishly slow Nebraska.) We have a joint sponsor because I won't have enough established time at my new job. I didn't file taxes though because I wasn't even living in the US. So how do I write a letter stating that? What I mean is, is there a template to use? I've Googled but am getting conflicting information. Thank you in advance for your help!
  3. Asalam alaykum. Hello all. My husband and I have been married for a little over a year. I've been living here in Algiers since March 2017 before we married. We are exactly one year and five days apart in age. I have one son who is 21 as of yesterday and we actually have been trying for a family of our own. We've had one pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. (I certainly wouldn't include this information if it wasn't necessary.) I reverted BEFORE I met my husband. We did meet through a mutual friend online. I'm working here, am very close to his family but we are ready to go to the US for a while to establish a life there so I can be close to my son for a bit again. We are sending in our I130 this week. We are including 15 pages of Skype and Facebook conversations from the day we started talking until January of this year when I came back from visiting my son. Also three letters of support from his family members and three from mine plus 30 photos of us together, me and his family, us with family and our wedding. I will be moving back in March or April to establish residence again and start working again as a nurse but will still be using a cosponsor probably just in case. My question is: does anyone think we're going to have many problems with this petition, if any? And my cosponsor is a close friend who will be using her SSI and SSI disability income as our proof of financial support. Is this OK? I have SO MANY people fear mongering me that they are going to deny us. Thank you in advance for your help!!!
  4. So just heard back from my fiancé who just finished their interview for the k1 visa. When I asked if they told him if was approved or not he told me he didn't know, they kept his passport and they said that aramex will call him to come to capital to pick up his passport after 10 days. Is this all a good thing? Does this mean was most likely approved??
  5. Hey Guys, My wife just got her EAD card with AP permission after coming to the USA on a K-1 visa. She is from Algeria, which is part of MENA. I am scared that under this administration she will be denied re-entry. I am torn apart on what to do. She misses her family so much and I want her to travel to Algeria but I don't want to risk losing her and undergoing the immigration process again. I need some input. My family is deathly afraid that she won't come back and it's really giving me and her second thoughts on her visiting her family back home. Is my fear and concern completely blown out of proportion? What should we do? Thanks for all your help.
  6. Hello all! I'm so excited to have come across this wonderful community! I was wondering if anyone could offer me any personal experience on getting married in Algeria? I'm from the USA and my husband is from Algeria. Me and my husband finished the process of getting approved by the Algerian government/police to get married, so I will be returning to Algeria in March, inshaAllah to sign the official marriage papers with him. Does have any experiences on how this process works? Once we sign the papers, do we get a copy of our marriage certificate right away? I know I will need a translation of the marriage certificate in order to file for the Cr1 visa but I want to know if I will be able to take the marriage certificate home with me on that trip or do I have to wait to receive that copy in the mail when I return to the USA? (I will only be able to stay 5 days because I have to return to my job in the USA). Also, are there any papers that I should start preparing with my husband while I'm there for the Cr1 application before I return back to the USA? We want to start the Cr1 application as soon as possible so I just want to know how to do this as efficiently as possible. Thanks in advance for any help!!
  7. Ok I’m so new at this and I want my fiancé over here the fastest and cheapest way possible. I’m thinking getting him here on a work visa might be fastest. He has a degree or something as a plumber and my friend can and is willing to apply for the work visa for him. I just don’t know which type is our best bet? He does not have a bachelors degree or anything so I don’t know if that matters. But anyways than once he’s here we plan to marry and then go from there. Any advice on work visas, total price, time frame and such would be awesome
  8. Hi everyone, I'm looking for someone who is familiar with the Algerian consulate, I would like to know what documents they ask for from the beneficiary after the i-129f approval to bring to the interview. Thanks
