I had the additional documents with me and I showed them to the officer. The officer was happy about them but they asked me to upload them to CEAS and gave me 221g, I then uploaded the documents to CEAC on the spot. Along with the 221g they gave me a form with instructions, the last instruction is to send the original documents to the embassy via DX delivery. Which I did. My questions are: 1- Did I have to do this (send them to the embassy via DX)? since the officer already looked at the original documents in the interview, but they were only concerned that they weren't uploaded? 2- Also, I sent original documents, and I need them for the future, does the US embassy return those documents along with the passport? 3- And if so how long does the US embassy in London usually take to change the status for such scenario from Refused to Issued? Thanks in advance! -
My husband (the applicant) had his IR1 interview in Mumbai and received a 221g letter asking for submission of additional documents to prove that I intend to reestablish domicile in the US. (I have been living in India for a few years.) We live in New Delhi and planned to drop the documents and passport, as requested in the 221g letter there. However when we make an appointment with the VAC on US Travel Docs, we have to select a date for the appointment and the location by default is Mumbai. We are confused. Do we drop the documents (and passport?) in Delhi? Do we need to travel with them to Mumbai again? What is a "Follow Up Appointment" and do we need to submit additional documents there or to a drop box anywhere beforehand? I've seen a few queries like this here. Would appreciate any help. -
Hello everyone, Would really appreciate your help here. My wife just got out of her interview, they wanted the joint sponsors 2020 tax returns.The joint sponsor had filed for an extension in 2020, but regardless they wanted it. The joint sponsor started working on it a while ago and should be getting them soon. The officer asked my wife to send in the 2020 tax returns of the joint sponsor with her passport. Is there a need for worrying? Also, right after the interview my CEAC started showing incomplete and they want a i864ez on top of the i864 i've sent them. Do i ignore this or send it in? Would really appreciate the help. -
Hello, I am petitioning for my husband and my income is not sufficient. However, I have made my maternal cousin, my joint sponsor for AOS income purposes. I am thinking of providing a letter with documents that states that my joint sponsor-my cousin is going to support my husband. My husband and cousin have not met each other. Does anyone have a sample letter of this kind that states that my joint-sponsor will support us. (my joint sponsor and I live on separate address) can someone send me a sample letter which they can write? Thank you so much.
