Hi all! I am petitioning for my husband to move from Canada to Texas. We have been DQ as of June 2020 and we know there's a long wait ahead. I have dual citizenship with Canada/USA and lived in Canada my whole life until we started this process. We were under the impression that I was required to domicile in the States to be able to sponsor him - we now know that I only needed the proven INTENT to domicile *face palm* Now we have spent a year apart and are not looking forward to another 8+ month wait for his interview. We are considering waiting this out together in Canada. I would maintain my US address, bank account, vehicle title, etc...but I would be leaving my job. However, we do have a joint sponsor who is our Affidavit of Support. Will this be a problem? Does any one have any thoughts/opinions? Thank you!
Hello, I am in the process of removing conditions on my conditional green card. I am currently a dual citizen (Poland and Canada). On the first page of form I-751 question 6 it asks: "country of citizenship or nationality (provide all that apply)". This is very confusing because, in the paperwork to obtain the conditional green card we never filled out Poland as a country of citizenship (our lawyer filled out all paperwork). Now I feel tempted to just list Canada as this is my country of birth and only have a valid passport from Poland. I don't want to confuse the situation by listing it, since the question does specify "list all that APPLY". Does this apply? Has anyone else run into a similar situation? Please help!
Good day everyone. I am a dual citizen of Sri Lanka and USA. But since my family is in Sri Lanka and also due to my personal matters I had to remain in Sri Lanka for the most part of my life. I was born and raised in the USA for about 1.5 years only. and brought back to Sri Lanka in my childhood. after that I only had to visit USA for just one month in last 2012. And haven’t been there ever since. But I have the SSN/Us Passport. So I recently petitioned for my spouse for the CR1 visa. Will it get rejected because I am not domiciled in the US? But I’m hoping to get back to the USA with a job. I’m currently looking for a job. Does anyone know a website or something that offers US jobs for US expats abroad? Thanks guys!
