  1. Hello Everyone, We are currently have had our 129F approved and are now preparing for the interview, but we only now realized we made a mistake about the City my fiancée was born in. So on her birth certificate she will be bringing to the interview it has a slightly different birth City than our 129F. Should we be concerned? Should we try to correct it before the interview, or wait to explain it in the interview? Also for the DS-160, should we then match her birth certificate (correct city) or match what we originally put on the 129F? Thank you for any advice!
  2. I got my Notice of Action 1 in january 13 2020. It stated it came from Texas Service Center. I was happy to see that because TSC processing time was fast. After my case went out of processing time range, I asked USCIS to look into my case which is out of processing time now. They replied that my case is in Vermont Service center and within processing time. TSC processing time is 4 -7 months VSC processing time is 20-24 months Now I don't know what should I do?
  3. Good Morning! I just wanted to start by saying how grateful I am that everyone here is so helpful and wonderful. I am working on the 129F form and have a couple of quick questions. My Finnish partner has a couple of quirky things that make answering some of these questions hard. 1. Part 2. Q 1. pg 4. Beneficiary Middle Name- My partner is Finnish and they have this 'third name" thing. Do I just put his middle name and third name on that line? 2. Part 2. Q 12 pg 5. Beneficiary Address History- My partner has an address now but had some rocky times in the last 5 years resulting in him couch surfing. I guess the question is how do you document that or should I use his parents address? 3. Part 2. Q 16 pg 5 Beneficiary Employment History- Same thing here, there is some unemployment history. Should I just put Unemployed in the employer name to cover each time period? 4. Part 2. Q 24 pg 6 Information About Your Beneficiary's Parents- Ok this is the tough one. Sasu (my partner) was born in Russia where he lived in an orphanage for the first 6 years of his life. He was adopted by a Finnish family when he was 6, who he ultimately ended up hating and running away from. When he was like 14 he was taken in by another family and these are the people he refers to as Mom and Dad. Foster parents I would assume. That is who we put on his ESTA paperwork when we did that. So for this question what should I put? He has no information about his biological parents, he knows first and last name of his adoptive parents but wouldn't know middle name and may or may not know birthdays for them. He can probably guess at the place of residence. Just not sure who he should be putting in this question. Sorry for the lengthy question and information. 5. Part 2 Q 38 - Since Sasu isn't currently here in the US, do I just leave 38a-h blank or put N/A? Thanks Everyone
  4. Hi All, I am getting ready to start my journey with my partner who is a Finnish citizen. We are going to go the K-1 route as it gives us ample time before marrying. We met playing video games in September of 2019 (I know, silly) and I have adored him since. I am a USC and well established here in the US so we feel that him coming here is the best option. Just trying to figure out if I need to hire an immigration lawyer or if this is all straight forward enough that I can sort it myself. Looking for the pros and cons of each. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello Berries!! I thought I'd start the new September 2018 129f thread. Best of luck to all new filers Currently it takes at least 6 months to receive the NOA2 for I-129F. One of the useful tools that the US petitioner should sign up for is the USPS Informed Delivery: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action. Update your VJ timeline so that others could answer your queries more appropriately. New site:https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ Once you have your WAC you can create an account in the webpage! Good luck and welcome to your new virtual Family! Feel free to ask !
  6. Hello newbie here. I’m still in the process of gathering all the required documents to file the 129. I’ve seen here that people included chat logs. My fiancé and I communicate on WhatsApp. Would I have to print out our complete chat logs??😳
  7. My fiancé mailed our k1 visa 129-F application on Feb 11th through USPS and the status indicates delivered on Feb 15th. We called USCIS last week and they confirmed that they received it. However, nothing was charged yet as for now. And we didn’t receive any email. It has been more than two weeks already. What could have happened? Should we call again?
  8. I know this question may have been asked a million times before, but I am new to all this and would like to find out if there's anything I can do to speed up the process? I sent in my I-129F packet with everything that was required and even a few extras.. I received my NOA-1 a few days later, and it's been over 4 months now without any information from USCIS... what should I do? is there a time frame that USCIS needs to follow to let you know that they are still working on your case? believe I read something about 60 days before you can talk to someone, but who can I talk to when all I get is a recording? Please help me. Thank you.
