They were professional, polite and very welcoming. I did have to go to secondary which took around an hour although the officer was really kind.

My fiancé followed the usual process and went to customs. He stated to the officer that he was entering the USA on a K1 fiancé visa and presented him with his 'DO NOT OPEN' envelope and passport. He looked at the passport, took his fingerprints, scanned his photograph, and asked my fiancé to follow him to a processing area. As they were walking there, he asked if BWI saw many coming in on K1 visas. The officer replied no, just usually at larger airports. He sat there for five minutes while the officer pulled up details, and then asked my fiancé to come to the desk. He asked when my fiancé proposed and remarked how long we had been together as he filled out the computer. He then asked when we planned to get married, and there seemed to be an issue on the system. He had to go back out to another computer and re-scan my fiancé into the system. He returned to the secondary area, and re-asked when we were to get married. My fiancé told him where and when we would marry. He then advised him about the date of which to adjust status in the US, and they talked about that for a bit. He then stamped his passport and documents, checked his customs form, and then wished my fiancé good luck. He then got his bags and was out very fast. It was very quick and simple, no problems, all in all about 12 minutes. It was the fastest I had ever seen my fiancé come out of customs at an airport in all the years he's been coming here.

It would have been easy but there was an issue with my entry date because the school said I wasn't starting classes until a week later, so technically I was a week earlier than I should. They questioned me, but then when I explained the situation they looked over everything and let me through.

Hubby took about 15 minutes to get through immigration. He said everyone was very nice and helpful. It went very smooth and stress free! Thank God!

After a long 8 hour flight from London, I arrived at BWI expecting the long queues of people that I saw in JFK. However to my delight it wasn’t that long. I came into the immigration area as they were opening the booths up, and I was 5th-10th in line for mine (it has been a month so my mind is a bit hazy on the exact number).

Within 10 minutes I was being seen, the person didn’t really want to talk to me. Told me I needed secondary processing and handed my package (the one I was carrying with me) over to another guy who then took me and my package to a room and sat me down. There was one person waiting in front of me.

I waited 30 minutes or so, then it was my turn and the lady asked if I wanted to get married in the USA, what my career was and when I planned to get married. I answered promptly and she handed over my passport with it already stamped. I guess she must have stamped it before even asking me my questions. She then asked if I knew the process to Adjust Status after marriage, I said yes and then I asked how long it would take and she cracked a joke about it being slow.

And then I was off. It was simple, just a waiting game as the rest of process thus far.
