I arrived in Anchorage from Frankfurt around 11 am. I went directly to the Residents/Visitors lane and had to wait around 20 mins til I got to the counter. At the counter, they took my fingerprints and a picture (i think!) and then an officer came and took me to a separate room. There was another guy there with K1 visa. The officer opened my envelope, looked at the passport and visa and asked me:
-when are going to get married
-how did we met
-when did we first met in person
-what's my fiance's name
-how old is he
-how old am I
He then stamped my passport, and showed me where I have to go to pick up my luggage.
Pretty easy!

Arrived on a direct flight from Frankfurt (Germany). Despite half an hour delay, POE made up for it! I was with an officer in a very little time and he was very nice. He asked for the sealed envelope, gave me back the xray cd and while he was opening it he asked a few questions: my fiance's name, when we were getting married, how did we meet. We even had time to share a couple of jokes (mainly abt the weather! lol)
Definitely a good experience and super quick!

The immigration officer was very nasty and refused the temporary work document
saying "your husband is going to take care of you, no?"
Moreover, he screwed up the I-94 entry document by leaving out ONE character
in her name and hustling her on her way before she could check it.
Would have rated it 3 without the spelling mistake, but I'll give it a 4
because that means we have to go to JFK to get the "Deferred Inspections
Unit" to issue her a new I-94.
What a bunch of clowns.

Absolutely professional. no problems what so ever. everyone was kind and courtious. i wasn't sure which line to get in (US Citizen/Resident or Non US Citizen/Resident, i'm a citizen and my wife the immigrant) we chose the "Non" line and it took about 1 hour before we got to the counter. the Agent was very professional, no hassels. then we were sent into a differnet room with our package. again everyone was very professional, no problems at all. that took about 5 minutes and then off to Customs, again nothing to complain about. everything went smooth.
Recieved Green card today, 12 Jan 2010.
