Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 8.45am we got there just before 8 and parked up around the corner where you get 4 hours (the machine takes coins and its $1 an hour) We walked in around 8.20am no other people was there other than the security guards who asked for our ID's and letter then we went through the typical airport style security taking off all metals and removing our shoes pretty standard stuff. We went to the desk where a lady put a number on our letter and told us to take the elevator to the second floor where my finger prints and photo was taken we was asked to take a seat and wait to be called, there was approximately 20 people in the room but for all different reasons not just for the adjustment. We seen a couple people go into rooms who was also there for the same reason of us and found it funny when one couple got out all happy and high fived each other (it's always a good feeling seeing others get approved knowing how stressful and time consuming this process is).

We waited around 40 minutes then this friendly lady called our number then we was both got led to a room where she asked for our ID's again then asked us to pledge to tell the truth. She then proceeded with going through our massive file, we sent in a lot of stuff asking basic stuff like my name where we worked, how many times I've been to America and my wife to England. Just general basic stuff nothing in depth or too personal. She asked for things we now have joint like phone bills, insurance, bank etc we handed it over and she said my card delivered 1-2 weeks. She was really friendly and we had nothing to worry about as if your relationship is legit it be clear to them.

Everyone there was super nice and helpful, we bought 2 binders and 2 photo albums neither was looked at but it's always best to be over prepared. It took around 1 hour in total including the wait we had.
Within 2 hours the status updated to card being produced

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 09 am. We arrived at 8:35 am. We were surprised because you must have coins to pay the parking. Hopefully we found in our purses some coins. We entered, and after ID and security checks, we had a ticket we took the elevator to the 2nd floor. A lady took my right and left indexes fingerprints. We waited15 minutes and the immigration officer called us. I was with my husband and my daughter. We swore to tell the truth .He asked us our IDs, my birth certificate and the birth certificate of our daughter. He asked me the last time i entered in the US, he changed my name ( i used my maiden name when i applied in june) he changed it to my spouse name, changed my adress. He asked me when did i quit my job in France, If i work here, where and when did i start, if my parents are out of the US and if they are still married. He asked all the i485 questions. Also asked to my husband why he divorced (he was previously married). I gave him the i693 sealed envelope and something was wrong in it. The civil surgeon left 3 cells blank on the vacinne sheet. He asked us to bring back another one with everything. Luckily, the surgeon was 5 min away. He asked if we had questions we said no. I showed him some of our pictures. He made copies of our passsports, 5 pictures , my birth certificate. We went to the sugeon to fill the blank cells and came back to give at the desk the new sealed envelope.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 12:30pm, the center doesn't seem to open until 12pm. We walked in at 12:05pm. You have to go through airport type security (shoes off, metal detector) so I would suggest don't wear heels like I did, as I had to walk on the floor barefoot!! 🤢

You then wait in line to be checked in downstairs (approx. 10 minutes while the lovely lady processes everyone) and they give you a ticket (like at a deli counter) that the immigration officer upstairs calls you by. You head into an elevator and up into the waiting room. We had Officer Chang and he was lovely. Asked for all our IDs (passports, ssn etc), asked a few questions off the i-485 form "have you tortured anyone" etc. I had all our wedding pictures printed, as well as photos with his mom and dad, he took copies of I think 3-4 photos. It was hard to get a read on him, but my online case was updated three days after our interview, and we received our approval notice in the mail six days later!!

We were super quick! In and out of the car, took 50 minutes (we had 10 minutes left on the parking meter out the front). Make sure you bring quarters, as the spots are all metered out the front of the building 😄

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 9AM and we arrived at 8:35AM. We went through the little security checkpoint and then checked in where we were given a piece of paper with a number that they would call when it is our turn.Once we checked in we were instructed to take the elevator to the 3rd floor I believe, its the only floor you can choose, once there you sit and wait till your number is called. We only waited about 10 maybe 15 minutes. We were called to a small office in the back with a very nice lady, she really put us at ease. She asked us to raise our right hand and swear that we are telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Then she asked if we could please provide her with our orginals of both our Birth Certificates, Passports & out Marriage Certificate, I brought copies but she already had them on file and did not need them. Then she asked me a few of the yes or no questions that I had answered on the I-485 and checked to make sure they matched what I had answered. Then she asked when was the first time I entered the united states, I thought she meant in regards to our relationship but she actually meant ever! I told her gosh maybe when I was 3, I lived very close to the boarder so we would travel across the line all the time. Then she asked me my fathers full name and asked if my parents lived or had legal citizenship in the United States of America. She asked if I am now employed, which I am as I was approved on August 20th for my EAD, so she just had me fill in the information on the original I-485, I brought a letter of employment but she did not need it. She looked out our photo album, which I was very excited about as I worked very hard on that, she loved the details of where and when we were in those places. Then that was it, it maybe took 15 minutes. She said that we would receive an update if our application was approved or not later, did not specify a time, and then handed us a letter saying at this point the application is still being reviewed but that they do not need any further information at this point. Then she requested we go to window 3 for them to take biometerics on me again and then we could leave. We went to window 3 the lady take fingerprints of my index finger on both hands and took a picture and she was done! 5 hours later we received an update online that our case was APPROVED!!! The card is already in the mail and expected to arrive October 1st!

Everyone at the Fresno was so kind and so welcoming.
