Review Topic: General Review

The interview process was very easy and smooth and the consular officer was very nice and easy to talk to. She asked me how did I meet my husband. when did we get married, which city do I live in in Syria. Where will I live in the USA. Do we have children. Was me or my husband married before. And I think that was it. Then she told me that because I am Syrian I am banned to enter the USA because of the travel ban. But I am eligible for a waiver. Therefore show will apply for a waiver on my behalf. And then I went to the next window and they told me to come back after 3 buisness days. But I was watching my case status online and my visa was issued the next buisness day and I picked it up. Now I am in the USA.

We went to Abu Dhabi the day before the interview and we stayed overnight in a close by hotel. Next morning we were outside the embassy at 7:20 and we were second in line ,most of the applicants for Immigrant visas were Iranian and I thought we were the only non Iranian until one Pakistani family arrived later on. around 8:10 am they let us in they gave us a number and asked us to sit, a few minutes later our number came on one of the windows where an Iranian American Woman was waiting behind, she took my husband's medical and bio-metrics, then my husband was asked to sit again. After 2 or 3 minutes my Husband was called in to a small room (I was not allowed in) and he was asked a few simple questions (how did we meet ,how long we have known each other, how and where did we get married, who is the co sponsor, and what are our plans when we arrive to US), Interviewer was quite nice, He told my Husband that his visa was approved and that his passport will be delivered in few days the whole thing from the time we were let in until we came out lasted less than half an hour ,We were outside the embassy at 8:40

My husband just had his interview, and I am just too excited to sleep! His appointment was for 7:30, he was done at 9:30. He said the lady was very nice. He brought most papers with him, including all pictures and proof of relationship. She asked about my boss....if it was man or woman. (odd question, and he knew the answer...didnt realize I ever spoke of it) She asked about my kids, how many and how old. Then she asked how many times I went to visit him.

Thats it. She smiled, said he was approved and kept his passport! Said go to aramex and pay, will have visa in 1-2 weeks.

Woo Hoo!!! I am soooooo happy!

My fiance' went to the interview on time and prepared. According to him the consulate was a very nice lady who was considerate and understanding of the situation. She walked him through everything step by step and concluded that he needed the forms that finalized his finished term in the army, so he sent those through aramex, and the visa was sent to him 3 days later. Overall a good experience in Amman.
