It went smoothly. I got a call from the embassy, made an appointment for the interview, turned in all papers, that are needed (you can find the list of the forms on their web page, no proof of ongoing relationship needed - however, I had it with me - just in case.) The approach of the embassy employees was very nice and professional, the consul even spoke Slovak. My visa was ready on the next day - they even offered that they can prepare it immediately, in case I can wait...Excellent!!!

First of all, I have to say that all communication with the Immigrant Visa Department of the embassy was always very pleasant, the were always very helpful trying to make things go as smooth as possible. They even gave us an earlier interview date than what NVC sent us. Dont be afraid to call them or email them with any questions you might have. Also first check with them (after they receive your package from NVC) whether you have to pay any additional fee, or whether everything has been paid previously by your spouse in the US.
I had the interview at 9am. The whole interview was very smooth. First I submitted all the necessary documents to a Slovak lady, we went through it together, she returned to me any duplicates. I also gave her any additional materials such as photos, wedding invitation, cards from my husband and in-laws. She said she didnt need emails or skype chats or phone bills or anything like that (but having that with you surely helps, one never knows, they can ask for it).
Then I waited about 15 minutes untilI was called inside again, to speak with the consul. Again she was very nice, went through all the documents quicky, barely looked at the photos - asked whether we had been to Venice for our honeymoon (yes we were). Then she only asked a few basic questions - how did you meet? Where is your husband now? I said he is in the US, as he currently studies at law school. Then she asked whether that is in Mississippi (but that is where he studied previously, so maybe she asked that questin on purpose, waiting for whether I say something wrong) - so I said no that is where he was the year before, now he studies in Topeka, Kansas. And that was it, she then approved my visa. And she made a nice comment that I am the first Slovak woman married to an American that she saw to keep "-ova" after the surname
After that I was told to come back in the afternoon at 2pm (the same day) to pick up my passport with my visa in it, and the sealed envelope with all the documents. I suggest calling them a few weeks before the interview, and ask them whether it would be possible to pick up the visa on the same day (usually it is the following day).
Good luck to everyone!
