Overall a pleasant experience. The security checks are intense and phones and smart watches are not allowed. I went with my fiancé who the consular offices saw and then asked him to take a seat. I was asked a few questions, basics like how did we meet, what does he do for a living, how many times he visited and what I plan to do when I get to the states (I said get my veterinary license which will take me a few years). The only documents they wanted were proof of the payment for the appointment, one 5x5cm picture, police clearance and birth certificate. Documents in Serbian don't need to be translated to English so don't waste your money. Overall would give it an 8/10.

We arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled interview time and there was already a long queue in front of the embassy. My spouse wasn't allowed inside with me, but this is partly our fault since we sent an email letting them know that he plans to accompany me 24 hours in advance, but the embassy was closed for Memorial Day a day prior and they weren't able to put him on the list in time. Oh well, there was a very nice cafe just around the corner where he waited for me. Everyone at the embassy was incredibly approachable, polite and warm with a big smile on their faces. Total time spent inside was around 1 hour and 20 minutes, of which 95% was spent just sitting in the waiting area for my number to be called. I was called to the interviewing booth twice, first was to hand over some of my original civil documents to be checked (marriage and birth certificate and police report) and have my fingerprints taken. The lady that greeted me was very, very nice! She asked some general questions, this all took less than 10 minutes and I was then instructed to wait for my number to be called again, which would serve as the actual interview part of the appointment. Several minutes later, I was called to a second booth where I was greeted with yet another incredibly pleasant consular officer. The whole conversation felt more like a casual chat than an important interview. He asked me a few questions about my spouse, his family and our life here in Serbia, asked to see some of the pictures I brought with me and that was pretty much it! He said that he's going to approve the visa, wished us both luck and I was on my way feeling elated. They kept my passport, printed the visa and mailed it 48 hours later after which I received instructions on when and where to collect it via email. All in all, my experience with the embassy and the entire interview process was extremely positive and their professionalism, courteousness and friendly approach made the entire event far less stressful and scary than anticipated!

Hello,
They've asked for photos as proof of relationship.
Wife did not bring any, since we thought that part is finished with approved I-130.
Officer did not insist on it.
Printout some photos, just to be sure.
Result:approved. This was im Dec '22.
Their microphones are not really good and you can barely here the officer if he does not speak into his microphone directly.

Experience was pretty good. Important note: bring original divorce certificates, even if it's your spouses, that was one lesson learned in our case.

Our appointment was at 10h, but we arrived around 9:30 and they let us in.

Everyone at the embassy was very kind, although I feel like they were extra nice to us because they knew I was an American. We were at the embassy for about an hour and a half, and 90% of that time we were just sitting and waiting for our number to be called.

The actual interview lasted about 5 minutes. Only the beneficiary was allowed to be at the window, so I sat in the waiting area while she was answering the questions. He asked her what my name is, how did we meet, and if either of us have jobs/what are our professions. So only three questions really! After that, he approved her!

That was about it! Everyone we talked to was very friendly and the whole experience was really easy. We were actually very nervous (mostly because we are a same-sex couple) but everything went fine.
