My experience at the US Embassy in Paraguay was very pleasant. The officer was very courteous and respectful to me and my children. I was asked the basic questions you would expect in a K-1 interview about my fiancé. These questions were easy for me because my fiancé has been in Paraguay with me for over 1 year. In addition to the documentation they request on the lists they send you will need to bring copies of your fiancé's divorce decree and prior marriage certificate if applicable. Even though your fiancé submits this with the application, they ask for this from you directly in the interview. I was not prepared for this and had to send it via email later. They also asked for a legal document showing the father of my children gave permission for them to live in the USA for their K-2 Visas. You will need to bring this with you to avoid any delays.

K1/K2 visas.
Both k1/k2 attended. Appointment at 2 pm. We arrived 15 minutes earlier. The embassy was empty of other applicants at that time, so they made us enter the building right away. The interview had 2 parts: in the first interview the CO had a check list with all documents to be requested: asked in this order: (in spanish)
1- Passports
2- DS-160 Confirmation pages
3- Evidence of visa fee payments (bank receits)
4- 2 Photos each (please have them cropped in 2x2 inches, ours came in a pair)
5- Birth Certificates
6- Police Certificate
7- Marriage Certificate from previous marriage and divorce decree
8- Photos of fiance and I together
9- i-134 Affidavit of Support (copy) and supporting evidence (bank statement, tax returns, employment letter)
10- Medical exams in sealed envelopes
The CO was asking questions in between asking for the documents: My daughter was only asked how old is she and asked to sit down and wait, the she asked: tell me about your relationship, how did it start, how long ago, how many times did you see eachother and when, did he visit you?, did your daughter meet him? Is this going to be your second or third marraige? is this going to be is second marriage? . Afterwards, the CO told me that our case is going to be prepared and then the Consul was going to interview us.
We waited for about 20 minutes and then were called us both by the Consul for the interview. Took our fingerprints and asked my daughter to sit down in the waiting area. He asked: how did you meet? do you communicate in spanish or english? Since I replied that we speak in english, he continued the interview in english. Then asked, have you been to the US? where did you stay? what do you plan to do for a work once in the US? (I replied that family is my main focus and we as a family would consider it later on) Does your daughter like your fiance? As he was asking these questions he was stamping the copies and returning the originals to me, which I highly appreciate. After this he said: your visa is approved and handed me the IMBRA paper and instructions for passport and visa pick up.
Both CO and all staff at the embassy were very polite and treated us with great respect. We left at 2:45.

Generally friendly, but had to return several times because the affidavit of support was not an original and then again because I answered incorrectly one of the questions that did not apply to the visa type (about specific supports).

The interview was super easy. We arrived a bit early for our 2:45 interview. We went into the embassy and waited for about 20 minutes. First, they called Victor up to hand in his passport and medical results. About ten minutes later, they called him up again. I went with him. The interview lasted about 10 minutes. They took his fingerprints and had him sign the ds-230 form. Then, they asked the following questions: How did you meet? Where do you (Victor) work? How many times have you (Victor) been to the US? Do you like your wife's family? When did you (Stacia) come to Paraguay? Have you (Stacia) been in Paraguay the whole time since you came in 2006? What are your plans for when you go to the US? Then, he told us the visa was approved and we could pick it up the next day.
