Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at embassy early (about 30min before my interview time). At the the gate they took my passport and asked to wait. Waited about 5-10minutes and was asked in. The officers took my bag and all other stuff than the papers. Then went for the waiting room which was packed! I think about 30 people before me. Waited first like 1 hour 20 minutes and was called for the first officer. She took only the papers, no questions was asked. Waited. Was called again because some documents were missing (gave him the missing papers). Finally was asked for the 3rd officer. He took fingerprints 3 times and asked to tell the truth and that the paperwork is truthful. Then he asked the following questions:

- Why are you going to US?
- Fiancé name
- Fiancé occupation
- Fiancé city of residence
- Fiancé family
- Name of fiancé mother
- Fiancé hobbies
- Fiancé favorite food
- Has he been to Finland
- Have I been to US
- Where did we meet
- Have I lived abroad (where, how long)
- When planning on traveling to US

Then he said he needs to check something again. Waited.

He came back and again was looking the papers.

Then he said he will check when I will get my passport.

And then he said I am good to go and the visa is approved. And will get the visa next week.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived there early and waited outside for some time before even going to the window to sign up. The Finnish guards were very nice even though the situation was a bit intimidating.
They let me in 15mins before the interview time and did the security checks. I had to leave my bag with them and just took my papers with me. They escorted me into the building and there I had to take a number and sit down to wait in the waiting area. There were 6 other people there already. I waited for about 25mins and they came to call me by my name. I walked up to the counter and there was a Finnish man that took my passport, medical review envelope and the confirmation page of the DS-260. He was also very polite. Asked me to go back to wait and they'd call me back soon.
I waited another 10mins and I was called back and now there was an American consular officer at the counter. He took my fingerprints and went through my file that he already had in front of him. While looking into those he casually asked me a couple of questions:
- When did you get married?
- What does your husband do for work in the States?
- When was the last time you were in the States?
- You didn't have any children, correct?

Then he said that they seem to have everything they need and I will get my visa latest next week. I mentioned that I travel for work and he said he'll try to do it the same day so I could possibly get my passport back by the end of the week. And so I did!

Overall a very pleasant experience.
