Fairfax VA office - In a surprising turn of events it was a virtual interview. The officer told me it would be a combo interview, but they never called my spouse in. I had uploaded lots of evidence documents with my N400 (combining finances, taxes, leases etc.) and that seemed to have sped it up.

Interview lasted 10 minutes - civics questions first (how many senators, how long do they serve, what rights are protected in the first amendment, who is the speaker of the house, two US holidays, promise you make when becoming a citizen), confirmed address, updated a couple of errors I made on the N400 form, and asked if we had filed taxes. Done and conditionally approved pending I-751 approval - said it would take 2-3 days for the I-751 to get transferred, 2-3 weeks for approval, oath scheduling could be as fast as a couple of weeks. I let them know i was travelling all of May and they said they would shoot for June.

Officer was very friendly, and efficient, and... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Officer welcomed us to his office and had us state our names. He asked us some basic questions such as how we met, how long we've been together, what we do for a living, etc. He did repeat a few of the same questions multiple times, obviously trying to see if we slipped and provided a different answer.

He asked when was the first time I EVER visited the US and under what visa, I told him I was probably around a year old and visited with my parents using a tourist visa. He proceeded to ask if I ever went back home. Surprised, I said yes I went back home, and he proceeded to say that he thought I stayed in the country because my English was pretty much perfect. Clearly he was trying to catch me and say that I overstayed my visa, which of course was not the case.

We brought in a binder with supplementary evidence but much of it was not needed. He collected a handful of photos and asked if we had any questions. My wife and I said no and he confirmed he was go... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was scheduled to begin at 9:40 am and we arrived to the office a few minutes passed 9 o'clock. There were already lots of people in the waiting area. We signed in and was then told to wait for my name to be called. We waited for almost 2 hours before the IO came, called my name and greeted us. She also apologized for the long wait. We chatted a little while she walked us to her office, where she then instructed us where to sit. We were asked to say our names for record, sworn in and she then began her questions. She asked about how we met, where we live, if we share kids together what proof of cohabitation we have and so on. She then proceeded to ask me eligibility and security questions. The interview took about 45 minutes total and she told us that she can tell that our relationship is genuine but that our application needs further review before it can be adjudicated. It's been 2 months but our case still hasn't been adjudicated.
