Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We got there at 9am, our appointment was scheduled for 930, we got called back together at 10am and were done by 1015. Officer was a woman, very nice. They asked me for my bio info then asked my wife for hers. Looked at our passports. They also asked us both to give the full name, place of birth, and birthday of the other. Asked questions of my wife about past J1 visa and if she completed the 2 year homestay requirement and then the standard are you a criminal questions. Also asked on what visa she entered with this time which was a tourist visa. Thought we met at the university where I currently work and where my wife used to work and we clarified that we met 5 years before that so she Asked when we met and where we met. She then asked if we had anything new to add and we gave them a copy of our house contract that we bought together, copies of the health and life insurance that show her as the beneficiary and that she is on my health insurance from work, joint light bill. Looked at m... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our letter was very vague and didn't even say it was for an interview. Upon arrival, we had to go through security and then got checked in. Our appointment was at 1:00 and we arrived at 12:30. My husband got called back at 12:45 and the officer joked that he wouldn't need me unless he doesn't trust my husband. I had to take a personal day from work because our invitation said I needed to be there, so I was a bit irked that I wasn't needed after all.

My husband said they basically just went through the questions from our i485. After that, he took the additional evidence we brought to add to our file (tax return, bank account, lease, etc). He looked at a few pictures from our wedding and more recently, asked what day we got married, and that was it. He gave my husband a paper that says his application has been recommended for approval and told us we should look for a green card in the mail in 3-4 weeks.

Overall, we were in and out within 45 minutes. Everyon... read complete review

I went in for my interview with my husband and it went really well. The officer was really nice to us and she told us if she needed more information, she would send us a mail. Other than that, she said "Everything looks good, I don't see any problem".

Review Topic: Naturalization

Columbus has an efficient office in our experience. Security is strict but the private security officers are friendly and professional. Waiting areas are confusing on where to sit, who to talk to, but they are flexible and answer questions. Had about 5 visits to this office in 3 years and never had a problem.
