Can somebody tell me more about the initial interview for the permanent residency. What are the questions that they ask? Is it really that scary?

waited forever for an interview and my case had been to so many places, checked against every terrorist database, in US and probably all of its allies, took close to 2 years for an interview, but finally on my interview date...
CIS officer was a polite guy. i had all my papers in order with copies of everything and my case looked very old and complete. but it still needed further reviews, it was gonna be "recommended for approval" but it needed one more final REVIEW!!
when i asked him about travelling, he advised me not to do it, but not a word of i-131. "better not to leave the country, it creates extra paperwork" were his exact words.
somehow the final review took over 1.5 mths, by then i had to make a trip to Canada and now everything is litterally abandoned. i'm back to step one on the visa ladder.

Wife had appointment at 8:15 a.m. We arrived at 7:45 a.m. and handed in her appointment letter. Her name was called at 8:20 a.m. and she was interviewed for about 30 minutes.

Wife said the lady interviewing her was pleasent. She was sworn in and the woman asked her questions about her responses from the N-400. Nothing out of the ordinary. Wife claims she was asked 12 civics questions rather than the 10 people are normally asked.

She passed the interview, but was unable to take the Oath the that day due to the them not having received the results back from the FBI background check.

I think the title explains itself! :D

We decided to drive this time instead of doing what we did before and it was so much easier, (once we'd found a place to park)! We ended up in this little garage, (lucky we took my Bug) two blocks away from the Fallon Federal Building and with an hour to spare.

After a stop in Starbucks for a cuppa, it was over to the building to visit 'Officer EAD' in 'Room 101'. h34r:

Once inside and issued with a visitor's pass it was onto 'Room 101' h34r: to get a ticket and wait my turn. We didn't have too long to wait either, despite the fact that I was number 593 and they were only on 560 when we got there! They were zipping through the numbers so quick that it was less than 20 minutes, almost exactly at the time of my appointment, when my number came up.

We made our way over to room 10 where there were about 3 people in front of me; as there was so little... read complete review
