Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

A little confusing when I got there since they made me stay in the nonimmigrant-visa line at first. But then they made an announcement for the immigrant-visas and I could then change line. My appointment was at 08:40 but I was there at 07:45. The announcement was at 08:00 when the embassy opened.

Walked through security, into the embassy and was told to go directly to window 7. There they asked for passport, passport style photos, waybill, my brith certificate, marriage certificate and police certificate. Then I had to go sit down and wait. It was possible to bring your phone and you could use it in the waiting area which was nice (especially when you're not from Stockholm and have to find your way there. I stayed at hotel Villa Källhagen which was perfect because it was just down the street from the embassy).

After a little bit they called my name and told me to go to window 3. There the embassy worker told me to hold my right hand up and swear to tell... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My K1 interview was scheduled at 830am. I got to the embassy at 745 and was first in the immigrant line. At 8 they let me in, there was a security check, and then I was guided to a waitroom. Almost immediately I was called up to a window to provide required documents. Then I was told to sit and wait for my name to be called again to have my interview. About 20 min later they called my name and I was asked general questions about me and my fiances relationship. They had not received the results from my medical examination yet (appointments were limited and I had mine one and a half weeks before my interview, they say it usually takes around two weeks for the embassy to recieve them). Everything else was fine, so they told me that as soon as they received the medical results (and if they looked ok) they would issue my visa and send it to me. I got a document stating this as well. They kept my passport since they expected my medical results any day. I had a great experience at the embassy... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My experience at the US Embassy in Stockholm for the CR1 visa interview was overall smooth and hassle-free. To start, I highly recommend staying at Biz Apartments, which is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the Embassy. This proximity made it easy for me to reach the Embassy on time and avoid any unnecessary stress. Additionally, when organizing your documents, I found it helpful to use paperclips to keep related documents together. Initially, I was unsure about this, but it turned out to be a practical solution.

Upon arriving at the Embassy, I was greeted by a friendly and professional staff. The entire process took approximately two hours, but the actual interview itself lasted only 10 to 15 minutes. One important update is that you are now allowed to bring your phone with you. Unfortunately, I left mine behind, which made the wait a bit boring. So, make sure you have your phone handy for entertainment during the waiting period.

Review Topic: General Review

Interview approved,
took 3h total of waiting time and interview. 1 h line outside the embassy, 2 h inside. A lot of questions; how did you first meet, how often do you see each other, have you ever got denied a visa/US entry before, when did you get engaged, were are you going to live, where does your fiance live, what does your American fiance work with, what do you intend to do when you get to the US, etc etc. Fingerprints taken and papers handed in, and showed original documents.
Positives: Nice staff, friendly, helpful.
Negatives: waiting time, and very crowded waiting room. Also mixed for all types of visa questions, and the student and work visas were interviewed right Infront of the other people sitting waiting. So no privacy when answering, everyone could hear and also hear of they got approved or not. The K- visas was in a private booth next to it though
