Before schedule the interview, the consulate need to have your case in hand( you can email to ask) And collect all the information they need in the list, such as DS160, interview confirm form, birth certificate, current household registration certificate, police record and I134 with W2, etc...

So I schedule the interview at 13:50, but I went inside before 15 mins( it depends on security guard, if he or she let you to go inside before schedule time.
When I enter the consulate, they ask me for my mobile and ID to keep in their place and go through kind of airport security check. After I go inside the actual place, I let the reception see my interview confirm paper and DS160. Then I go inside other room submit all my document and passport , also the 2x2 pictures. Then the other window they will check all the information with you and scan your fingers prints. This part is important. The lady type all the answer on computer, like she is doing summary to the interview ... read complete review

We arrive at AIT (Taiwan's pseudo embassy) about 15 minutes before our 9:00 appointment and we were told to have a seat and wait for our appointment time before they would collect our appointment letter. After the initial check-in and passport registration (for return of passport with visa stamp) we were directed to the document preparation and interview room. We waited for a very long time (about one hour) for our name to be called. The clerk went though our folder and asked to see original documents for our marriage certificate and household registration (Taiwan document). After we completed document collection and review, we were directed to another window to be fingerprinted. After fingerprints was the formal interview. There were very few questions from the clerk who prepared our documents and even less from the officer who did the actual interview. Questions were about my spouse's current employment, when was the last time we visited the U.S., and then some questions about... read complete review

AIT was overall effective at their job, however we had a few difficulties.

1. She tried to apply for an interview date online (the only way to make the appointment) she repeatedly got a calendar of dates with no times available. We had to call a phone number +88607010801575 (as of 08/2015) and someone fixed her profile quickly.

2. She arrived for her interview exactly at the time specified and was never called upon for her interview. She sat patiently and waited for 2.5 hours until they almost closed. Someone finally asked her what she was waiting for and she got help. They said they "mixed up the paperwork" but there was only one other k1 appointment that day. Still, once noticed she went through the interview wicket and without issue and they apologized.

4/5 everything was relatively easy and straight forward though time consuming. A few hiccups but overall process completed as promised.
