We arrived at 7:55 for an 8:30 interview. The guard allowed us to sit outside on the benches until they were ready to do the initial security screen. We only had a backpack with our documents and our IDs, so this went easily. We were the only ones on the list for the day. We passed through secondary security, then walked back and were given a number, even though we were the only ones there...we sat for nearly 30 minutes until the preliminary documents were asked for at the side window, and then another 5 minutes until Milan's fingerprints were taken. Then we were both called up to the center window for the interview. The consular officer was kind, and the interview lasted no more than 15 minutes. She asked how and when we met, how often we'd seen each other, what I did for work, what his profession was, where I went to church, what his relationship with my children was, how our wedding was...? She didn't even want to see any other proofs of relationship, or more financials. We started ... read complete review

The people at the embassy were very kind, professional, and polite. I finished everything under one hour, the interview itself was about 5-10 minutes long.

I arrived at the embassy half an hour earlier, immediately passed the check and entered the consulate. They gave me the number and kindly asked me to wait. My interview was scheduled at 10:45 and just at that moment, a kind gentleman called my number and told me to give him all the original documents listed in package 4. He asked me what my fiancé do for living and I said that he is police officer. He took me a birth certificate, (original with translation), police report, same original with translation, passport, photo, evidence of relationship that I cut into cd (pictures, messages, phone calls) birthday card from my fiancé, western union payment receipts, plane tickets from travel (mine and his) affidavit of support (but he promptly returned me tax return, bank statements and confirmation that he was working explaining that they didn't need it because he is a police officer) and told me that they had received a medical report earlier. He spoke Serbian. Then he asked me how we ... read complete review

Cursory look at documents. No official interview. Asked for more documents. Received documents and immediately denied with no further interview. Longstanding relationship with reams of proof. Official documentation from embassy employee sloppily done, as if it was an afterthought. Very unprofessional appearance of officer and seemingly cavalier attitude about a family's important petition.
