Scheduled for 1pm, arrived 15 minutes early, went through security, left phone to be picked up when leaving.

Picked up ticket number A111.

Was called to first window to show invitation letter and ticket number.
Secondly, called to window with extremely nice Brazilian lady that asked for all the paperwork made sure everything was correct, asked for signatures where missing, took copies and checked originals when needed, told me I had everything asked if I wanted interview in Portuguese, no, English is just fine, wished me good luck for the interview. Did not ask for further evidence which I had.

Waited a while and was called for interview in a window too.

Asked if I spoke French, no, English please.

Questions asked:

What happened to your passport?

Have you ever been to the US?

So what is this stamp here?

Who is so and so?

Everything went by really fast, I got there around 8:30 and by 10 I was done.
I was first called up to a window where I had to show the documentation that was asked, such as my passport, receipt for the bank payment, birth certificate, etc.

20 mins later I get called to a different window where i had my fingerprints taken, and then a few more questions:

"How did you two meet?"
"Do you talk everyday?"
"What was your parents reaction to this relationship?"
"What's your fiance's line of work?"
"Are your parents gonna attend the wedding?"

She then went through all my documentation and noticed I was missing my fiance's pay stubs and/or his tax return transcript. She was very helpful and proceeded to write down the names of the documents we'll need and where he can download them from, also an email address to where he can send them as soon as they are ready so we can move on with the process.
She... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

The Lisbon Embassy is a quiet sort of embassy, but the people are very helpful. We arrived at 8:00 am and by 8:30 am we were already inside and had had our first talk with the lady at the window. He was asked a few simple questions about me such as:

"What's your finacee's address?"
"What's your fiancee's phone number?"
"What's your fiancee's birthday?"

After paying the second fee we had to wait about an hour to get to the actual interview part. We were called up to another window where he was asked a few more simple questions along the lines of:

"Where did you meet?"
"How long have you known each other?"
"How many trips has your fiancee made to see you?"
"What do your parents think about you going to the USA?"

They took the medical forms, and all the required documents including the I-134, but they never asked for any proof of relationship. I think this is mostly because the US citizen wa... read complete review

This is a very small embassy with almost no petitions. The process is very quick, all the staff is very nice, professional and helpful. I went there at 9h (my interview was at 9:30) and at 10:30 I was out taking a coffee. Two days later I recieved my passport with the visa and the package to present at the POE. Absolutely no problems.

I have only one "not so good" thing to say: you have to call to get information, their answers to e-mails are pathetic.

Don't be afraid, they are really nice, the interview is as easy as can be and you can speak English or Portuguese.

Good luck!!!
