Here's a description of my DP's visa interview. We went on Monday and arrived at 8:45 for a 9am appointment. I went with my DP and brought along our 15 month old son. We waited until they finally reviewed the first set of his papers (voucher of payment, the forms from packets 3 and 4) and then we sat down again to wait for a LONG time. I didn't get a chance to talk to any other K-1 applicants because it was a struggle keeping the baby entertained. The room was very crowded and I didn't notice any other American citizens with Peruvian fiancees. Then we were called to window 9 where a Peruvian embassy official reviewed some of the financial papers, asked for the birth certificate of the baby, looked at my passport and made a few initial questions (how many times have i been to peru, how did we meet, etc). DCF through Tokyo, Japan was nice and easy!
We applied for a CR-1 through DCF in Tokyo, Japan. The interview appointment was for september 11, 2006 at 2 pm. There were few people for appointment for different visas... maybe 15.
We were received by a woman how checked my husband on a list. Then she gave us a number and a plastic file where we arranged documents in the order specified on a checklist.
We sited until our number was called. The first official greeted my husband in japanese (he does not speak english) and took our plastic file. She checked on a list all the docs received ans asked us to sit until called.
Minutes later another official called my husband for finger printing. This one talked in spanish what was great to hear.
Sited again until the last official called us. She said that I might be present in the interview. That was the final interview, and in japanese she asked how we met, if we have ... read complete review

We were scheduled to have our interview at 9:00 am. We arrived at 8:20 because I am very anal about being early and ontime. We stood in line for about 20 minutes and then were allowed inside. We went back to a very small room filled with people applying for non-immigrant and immigrant visas. Thankfully, there seemed to be a lot less people for the K-1 visa or something of that type. We sat and waited another 10 minutes, and we were called to a window where they took the payment receipt, his passport, and the DS 156, DS 156k, and the DS 157 (only for guys). Then we were told to sit down and wait. About 10:00 we were called to a small window where the lady asked us for the Police certificates, his medical exam, his birth certificate, and the I-134 Affadavits of Support. She took those and then asked us a few questions about when we met..had he been to the us, how many times had I been to Peru. We recieved package late because it wasn't delivered properly in the mail. Had to rush to get all docs in time.Had to hire lawyer in Peru to get the Antecedentes Judiciales in time. I recommend getting this doc as soon as possible to avoid that problem. We got ushered in quickly from outside. Got called to first window. We were missing the document that her two photos get afixed to so we had to fill them out there. Interview went very well. She got asked about 5 questions and we produced several fotos from my visits. Many with family members, I heard that was key. At the end of it all the consulate said "I can see nothing wrong with this relationship, I am going to grant the visa".
