Here is my fiancée’s experience with her K-1 interview in Islamabad on March 27, 2009

You go to the shuttle service place and wait in line for the shuttle. The women have a separate line and the men a separate one. The women's line moves a lot slower. The shuttle costs Rs. 200 for one person. You have to deposit your cell phone before you get on the shuttle. There is no charge for that you also have to deposit your bag, but only if you have a large bag, which she did. If they make you deposit it, make sure you double check that you take all you important belongings out of it like documents and your wallet.

It is about a 10-15 min ride to the embassy. They drop you right outside. Only people who have applied for the visa are allowed to go in at this point. If it is an immigrant case, you do not have to wait too long in the line because there’s usually not a lot of immigrant visa cases. The guard then lets you inside, where you are directed inside a ro... read complete review

I got to the shuttle service at 6am, then I finally got to the embassy at like 7am and they took my cell phone. When I got in I was called to pay for a fee, then called to submit documents (medical and then the other documents). Then I was called for finger printing. After some time went by I was finally called by an office he was white with a short brown beard. He asked me "how are you" I said "I am good". He then asked me my wife's name and I responded. He asked me "when did we meet, how did we meet" and I responded. He then asked the dates she came here first and when we married and how many times she came here. Then he said he will call me back again. Then he called me again to the window and asked me a few more basic questions. Then he said he will call me again. He called me again eventually and he asked to see the photos. He looked at them smiling and returned them to me. He did not ask me anything about more evidence for our relationship-which shocked me. I thought he would req... read complete review

Our interview was scheduled by the NVC on february 5th.We left sialkot at 1 am on 5th of february and reaached islamabad(faizabad) at 5.30am.We hired a taxi and headed towards convention centre.eversince this stupid war on terror, the beautiful city of islamabad has been changed to bunker island.a lot hurldes and blocekd roads.so,i suggest people going to the embassy to leave early.
Then we reached diplomatic shuttle service center.
Note:You cant go to the embassy all by yourself wether youare on a taxi or you have your own car.You have to go to convention center and then to the diplomatic shuttle service to go to the embassy.
Their we handed our bags and cell phones at the counters reserved for the purpose.cell phones are not allowed.
then we waited there and after getting the tickets we boarded a shuttle but we had to go througha thorough security check.
In half an hour we were at the american embassy.
Again we had to go through a security che... read complete review

My husband woke up bright and early and went to the embassy! He got there 4 hours early and he was told to wait. He got to his officer for the interview finally and was very nervous. (I did not go with him to the interview, I am still in the USA). At any rate they asked him over 30 questions. 1. How long did you know your wife before you met her? 2. What is your wife's full name? 3. Why do you love your wife and why did you want to marry an American? 4. What made you go online to meet a wife to relocate to the USA? 5. Can I see some evidence of your marriage?<-Just to name a few of his questions. The interviewer was an American man with dark hair and he was very stern voiced. He told my husband he was approved and could pick up his visa and passport in a few weeks. So, I guess no AP! :0)
