Arrived in Stockholm 14th of December. Our interview was the 15th of December. I had both my daughters with me. Age 12 and 14, I was told to bring them both even though it says everywhere than children under the age of 14 does not need to attend the interview.
We stayed at a hotel/hostel close to the embassy. STF Gärdet, highly recommended. It was cheap and cozy!
Our interview was at 8:30am the next morning. We walked from the hotel to the embassy. It was freezing cold but a. Ice walk. It's just across the field from the hotel. Took us about 30 min to walk because it was very icy. Got to the embassy and there was no one in line for immigrants. We stood in the right place. The line for non-immigrants was long, but not too long.
After a few minutes the guard at the embassy told everyone to stay in the same line so we had to move to the back of the non-immigrant line. Blah. But the line moved pretty fast so it wasn't too bad. I was stressing a little bit because th... read complete review

Showed up at the consulate at 8 am. Interview was scheduled at 8.30 am. Waited in the Immigrant visa line and was called after a couple of minutes. Showed my ID through the window, opened my bag so they could look into it, went behind the yellow line, had to take my jacket off and turn around, then show the underside of my shoes. Then I was allowed into the security area. A full screening was done,..just like at the airport. Keep in mind you are not allowed to bring your phone, your wrist watch, car keys, headphones or any electronics inside. They even kept the memory stick I had i my purse. I was told to follow the yellow line to the next building and go to window 7. A nice young lady asked me to hand over my documents in the order she asked for them. Then finally to put my name and address on the package envelope. Then to sit down and wait to be called for my interview. I waited for an hour before I was called to window 4. Read the pledge and gave my fingerprints. Then he started ask... read complete review

Thanks to VJ I had a very enjoyable time at the consulate, although nervous and shaking from standing in the cold rain outside.

My appointment was for 08.30, and I arrived more than an hour early. They started letting people in at 07.30. I stood in the (not sheltered) immigrant line all by my lonesome and was prioritized to come in. The security guys seemed confused that I was there so early, but took pity on me and waived me in.

The most awkward part was doing the little dance outside the window before they let me in (up to the window, back behind the line, take jacket off, turn around and show your feet etc, ha-ha). After that they let me in, I went through the security check and they took my phone. I got to keep the canvas bag with documents and my valet. I was told to go to window 7 inside the consulate.

Since I was early I waited for a while before somebody came to see me. The first lady took my passport and told me to wait.

I was at the embassy at 8 am, and lined up by the sign that says to line up there if you're a US citizen or you have an immigrant visa interview scheduled. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting I was called up to security, where I had to show them my passport and DS-160 confirmation page, plus take off my jacket and show them the bottoms of my shoes. Then inside, through the metal detector, where they gave me a receipt for my cell phone and keys, that I wasn't allowed to bring in with me.

Inside, the security officer didn't know if the K1 was an immigrant or non-immigrant visa - I told him immigrant, and was sent to window G. There I gave them my passport at first. I was then called back to window G a little later, to give them the rest of my paperwork (passport photos, I-134, proof, birth certificate, police certificate, divorce decree with translation). He also asked me a few questions about how/when we met, and had me write my name and address on an envelope.
