Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had my interview at the USE in Stockholm on 24. May. My appointment was at 8.30 and I was about an hour early so there I was the first person in the immigration line. Like people have noted before there's a line inside a glass "waiting room" and then there's the line for immigration visas just outside on the sidewalk (you can see pictures of this on google street view if you wanna see for yourself before you get there) where I got in line. Just past 08.00 I was called to the window of the security building you need to go through where I showed my passport through the window and opened my bag so they could see it's content. I was told to take my jacket off, turn around, lift my feet so they could see the bottom of my shoes and then I was let inside to do the metal detector/airport type screening. There they took my phone, charger and lighter, and I got a "coat ticket" so I could get them when I left. I was told to follow the yellow line which leads you onto a sidewalk where you walk 5... read complete review

My experience at the US Embassy in Stockholm was a pleasure! My appointment was scheduled for 8.30am. I got there early and was the first in line for immigrant visas, around 7.20 am. Maybe a bit early, but that was fine. Make sure you're in the right line if you're applying for a K1 visa, you're NOT going in the glass Box where everyone else is waiting.

At 8.00am the Security guards called me up and I went through security. Just follow their instructions and you're good, they're very friendly and helpful. I then followed the yellow line up to the actual building, and was greeted by another security guard who told me where to go next. A Swedish speaking lady came to the window and she collected my documents. She then told me to wait until I was called. That part is not your interview, she just collects your documents!

My name was called and an American lady greeted me by another window. She was such a sweetheart, and I just knew that I would get this visa... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you guys a review of the day of our interview at the US embassy in Stockholm Sweden. My son and I had to fly to Stockholm, Sweden from Bergen, Norway. Scandinavians (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) is required to go to Stockholm for Immigrant Visa interviews.

We arrived the day before for the interview, slept at a hotel fairly close to the Embassy. Next day we ordered a cab from the hotel to the Embassy about 1 hour prior to the interview, the interview was scheduled at 8:30 am. The ride took only 10 minutes, so we were at the Embassy about 50 minutes prior to the interview, and let in about 10 minutes before. (PS: it was a really cold morning).

Arriving at the Embassy you will find two lines, one for Non-immigrant Visas & students, and then a second line for US Citizen and Immigrant Visa sections. It is very easy to see what is what (there is also a sign telling you), we were the only one in the Immig... read complete review

I stayed at a hotel close to the embassy, so I was able to just walk over in the morning. My appointment was for 8:30 and I arrived at 8:00. Two people were already there. Make sure to stay in the short line (not the one for visitor visas). When arriving inside the embassy I had to submit preliminary original documents for them to look at. I waited more than and hour after that before being called. The interview was being conducted through a glass window, so there is not much room for a dialogue - you just have to answer the questions. They asked me when I was married, when my divorce took place and how long I had lived with my daughter (who petitioned for me). The interview took less than 10 minutes. Then I had lots of time to enjoy beautiful Stockholm before flying back home.

Got to the embassy about 30 min before my appointment. Lot of people waiting in line already. Most of them for non-immigrant visas.
Went up to the window by the main entrance where they ask you to show them your passport, remove your jacket, show the soles of your shoes and look inside any bag you might have brought (I recommend to not bring anything you absolutely do not need as there are limited storage)
Next you go through a ordinary security check (like at the airport) follow the yellow line up to the consulate where you are greeted by another security officer who asked you what type of visa you are there for.
I was told to go up to window 7, where I has to stand in line so another nice Swedish woman waived me over to another widow where the "pre-interview" took place. She was very nice and we chatted while she asked for all of my documents. I was told to sit down and wait until my name was called. Around 20-30 min wait approx.
My name was called to win... read complete review
