Embassy responded very quickly. After receiving documents from NVC, their packets were mailed to my fiance ASAP. Vilnius embassy allows applicants to return documents via e-mail. My fiance received a response to her response within 12 hours, and her interview was scheduled for the next day.

The interview went smoothly. The embassy staff were very friendly and well-prepared. She showed up early and was accepted early. Some embassy staff speak Lithuanian and may be native. The officer/consul was American.

She was able to return to the embassy 3 days after to pick up her passport w/ the visa and sealed packet.

1. My appointment time was 8:30, I was let in at 8:15. I was a SINGLE living soul in the waiting room! It took several minutes for somebody to come up at the window to take my documents (original documents, Photos, Police Certificates and Medical). When the lady check my name I saw 4 more names on the list for today's appointment. It makes me wonder how come I had to wait 76 days for the interview? They didn't look busy at all!!! I asked if my original documents aka certified translations are available to pick up. It was all returned to me, I gave them simple copies instead.

2. In about 5 minutes I was called for an interview, did fingerprints at the beginning. The Consul was friendly and very professional. Questions were popping out like rockets. He mostly went all the way through DS-260 I submitted on-line for the NVC. There were LOTS of questions. I mean - A LOT. Some required short, but precise answer, but few times he said 'tell me more about it'. I did good, I th... read complete review

Hi Y'all,

I was under stress that day, because, I had a plane tickets to USA in two days.
I know it is stupid, but when you are young, you like the risk, right?
So, I was in shock, when a secretary at the first window told me that my original birth certificate is not translated, and I will need to come back LATER!
But I had my old (Russian) Birth certificate with translation and notary stamp, so I felt a relieve.
Like everybody I had all the proofs with me, all copies, lots of pictures, pay stubs, tax returns of my husband, plain tickets and so on...
The interview took only 5 minutes. The consulate was very nice. He ask how we met, how many relatives I have in USA, when was the first time when I traveled to USA.. .and... that was about it... he asked for my passport and said I will get it back in two days. Then I went back to talk to secretory and tried to explain her that I am going to miss my flight, but she said that MAYBE if I... read complete review

Overall I would say the experience was good. I had heard from a person going through Vilnius embassy a month before me that no proof of relationship was asked and yet, they decided to do a second interview without saying that that was the reason.

So having heard about that I took loads of photos, boarding passes from various trips, receipts showing that we charged my fiancée’s credit card on the same trips and letters addressed to me and him at the apartment we have been living in together for 2 years. I put all of this in a big A4 sized envelope and marked it with a note saying ‘PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP’, of course it was about half inch thick. I placed it in between me and the interviewer, the note was facing the interviewer, which was something I did not intend to do and noticed only halfway through the interview  At one point the interviewer asked me whether we travel together and if so where. So I named the countries we have visited together and said: ‘I have ... read complete review
