Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interview went fast, CO and translator were very nice. They did not ask for any evidence. They asked my fiance how we met, if our families know, what my hobbies are and what pictures I have on Facebook. CO told my fiance that everything is fine, he will get a visa, but they have to put his application under further administrative Process, they have new security procedures they need to follow. Now we are waiting for embassy to call him to give him his visa.

His appt was at 10am. Got there a little early with a box full of proof and documents. Reception took his money and docs and he waited for 2+ hours for interview. Interview lasted approx 8 minutes. Went fine ... everyone was nice to him. Left with orange form..Didn't ask for tax returns - only interested in employment form for 134 and took his DS forms ... paid the fee ..and met with a woman for interview.
This review would be different if he wasn't approved!

"the interview went so well and it was so fast. Everybody was really nice to me, the guards, the cashier, the document collecting person and the interview person... I really like the US Embassy. Most of the documents we prepared were not needed. They didn't even ask for photos. They only asked for the applications, my passport, civil record, family certificate and the police statement... When they asked me for the application you had to fill, I gave them your whole financial package and the document collecting guy was really amazed. Then they called me to the interview room and the person there was a nice American guy. He made me raise my right hand to swear that all the information i'm providing is the truth. The only questions he asked were: Who is filing for your visa? How did you two meet? When? When did you see each other? What does he do for a living and what do I do for a living? He then gave me a paper needed to pick my visa next wednesday at 3pm.... So we're finally there ...... read complete review

Here are the details of our interview:

Hubby arrived at consulate. He was not allowed to bring in any of the stuff he carried such as albums, wedding memory gift box I had made for him, diaries, etc. Was asked to leave bag @ cafeteria. Was only allowed to carry a folder with documents in there and some pics.

He first went to window # 6. They took the medical envelop from him, officer then got our NVC file, went over the DS 230 info. with hubby to ensure he knew all the details. He was asked my DOB and job, among other info. Then on to waiting….He was the last in. Others scheduled the same day all had left as he was called in. The consulate officer was a nice man of Indian descent. He didn’t want to see anything hubby had brought- no chat logs, no let... read complete review
