I had my interview on the 30th of November and was approved!! It’s definitely not as scary as it seems and goes smoothly once you had the correct paperwork.

My appointment was at 1pm and I arrived at 12:50. I was brought into the security room and put my belongings in a tray. It was very much like airport security. The guards put my mobile phone in a locker and gave me the key to be worn around my neck and directed me to the right of the building where I met another police officer who directed me to the visa processing. At this point I was the only person in the room but it’s soon started to fill up with 4 other visa applications behind me and about 8 people waiting for passports on the other side of the room.

I was called to the desk after about 10 mins to hand in my documents. He asked for:
• passport
• 2 pictures
• DS-160 page
• birth cert
• police cert

Finally I get to give a review, and it's a good one (Yay to approval). Shout-out to all the other couples leaving reviews and information, you helped calm my nerves.
Overall, the whole process was smooth and incredibly fast. My appointment was at half one and I was out of the embassy by 1.50.
I first arrived 20 minutes before my appointment time and was told to come back 10 minutes beforehand. Once inside, I went through security, similar to airport security. I had to take off my shoes (doc martens made the scanner go off). I was then pointed in the right direction to the document intake.
The lady behind the counter was really friendly and helped calm the nerves. She tooked all of the required documentation - birth cert (original and photocopy), police cert, sealed medical results (she handed me back CD of chest x-ray), affidavit of support and supporting documents, passport, and recent passport photos. She asked me general questions eg fiance name, dob, my countr... read complete review

I had my visa interview on August 27th, 2021 and my experience was very pleasant. My advice for anyone going in is to be very calm and collective as it is not as scary as everyone makes it out to be. As long as your relationship is genuine you will have nothing to worry about.

I arrived for my appointment approx. 10-15 mins before my scheduled time. I had to click the button at the front window to check in (which I didn’t know at first until someone else waiting in line showed me). Once checked in the security guards brought me in and I went through airport-like security. My phone and keys were left in a lock box and they gave me a visitors lanyard with the key attached. I was directed to the right had side of the embassy for my interview.

When you walk into the room it is very similar to a tax office, with little booths for the embassy staff and public to face each other, there was glass separating the two of you and a microphone was used for com... read complete review

Had my CR1 interview on 24/06/2021. It was a very straight forward and friendly experience. From reading other VJers experiences I arrived about 5mins early and went through airport style security and went into the main building.

There was only 3 other people there due to covid, so it was a lot more relaxed than it normally would be. The woman at the first window who collected my docs was very very nice and calmed my nerves 💕 after she took my birth, marriage and police certificates, passport and photos I sat back down and waited to be called up for the interview.

I waited about 5mins and was called up for the interview part. She took my fingerprints and asked me a few very standard questions. It was extremely relaxed and nothing to worry about 😇 I was missing police certificates from Italy so was told to send them back along with my passport. I was in and out in around 30mins 🎉

I had my interview on 9-June-2021 and I have to say the officers I dealt with were lovely.

I arrived 10 minutes ahead of my appointment - there is a little kiosk you have to go through security at. They made me empty/throw away my water bottle. My smart watch, phone, and car keys were put in a locker. I was allowed to keep my wallet and my bag with documents. You go from the kiosk through the courtyard to the main building where another security guard greets you. This room is like a big post office where there are little booths you walk up to - there's no seat during the interview.

A short waiting time before being called to the counter to hand over my documents. The gentleman here was really nice and we cracked a few jokes. He made sure to tell me that if successful, my visa would be printed into my passport, and I would get a big brown envelope that should remain sealed until it is opened by an immigration officer at the airport ("Imagine there is a bi... read complete review
