My wife had her finger prints done. then we guided by the executive to sit infront of the counter no.25..there my wife was supposed to be interviewd by a assisstant counsulate..we were lucky enuff he didnt ask much as i am a U.S citizen and had come to take my wife along..tat creates a gud impression ..i mean its positive and strenghthens the case.tat counsellor kept my wife`s passport and handed over her original documents.we were asked to wait for the interview with the American Consulate. the consulate conversed in hindi. just asked if it was our first marriage..?? finally asked my wife to take an oath and the visa was granted.we were spell bound. the interview was so simple she got the visa easily.they mailed the passport in 10 days.now me and my wife are in U.S. did nt expect that the things wud be tat easy. ... read complete review

Well , late for review but maybe will help someone. You go in 15-20 minutes before you are scheduled. Then after getting inside make way to the last few counters where you can get your civil documents back. There are Indians at those counters and they will hand you your civil documents back and take your fingerprints. Then you will be called to another counter where a US consular will interview you.
It will be short and will review your documents and ask you some questions. To me questions asked were like where did i know my spouse from, when we got married? whats my father in law`s occupation etc.
So do not worry and just go ahead.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Greetings all,

First, a little background.

Aruno, my fiancee who is a native of Nagaland, India, and I did not create a timeline on the VisaJourney website. We began our application process on December 8th, 2009. [I live in San Diego County, CA.} The petition was approved on February 18th. The National Visa Center in New Hampshire wrote and informed us on March 1st that the petition would be forwarded to the consulate in India within a week. Later that month we came to learn that it would be in Mumbai.

Due to a delay in our returning the Packet 3, the interview date, to our disappointment, did not turn up on the Mumbai Consulate website list for the month of May. But, little did we know that, from a \"higher altitude\" perspective, all was on track for us.

Our interview date was scheduled for 29th June. But Aruno needed to be there 7-10 days in advance to submit her Packet 4 at the nearby VFS office. We both arrived ... read complete review

Date - 19.07.10, Time of interview: 10:15 am. New Delhi - US Consulate

-Reached at 9:15 am.Deposited mobile at a separate counter in a different building ( 5 mins walk from the entry gate) and was provided a token for the same at 9:40 am. They took down my name, contact number and looked at my passport. I was asked to switch off my phone while handing it over.

-Proceeded to the line where the guard looked at my interview letter and asked if I was carrying any electronic items and then ticked my name on a list. There was no waiting as there were just 2 people along with me in the queue.

- Entered the consulate. The security screening process was simple and pleasant. They asked me to put all my belongings in a tray to run through the scanning machine. They asked me to drink the water that I was carrying and then allowed me to take it with me. But very sweet personnel...

- Entered the waiting area at 9:55 am which was like a ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My interview was scheduled on 15th July, 2010. I was told to report at 8 a.m. I reached the US embassy at 7.15 a.m. After the security check, I was given a token number. Waited in a hall where immigrant and non-immigrant interviews were to be taken and got my finger print done.

Then I had to wait patiently for my turn. I went to the counter when my token number was displayed. An Indian lady took my papers and went through them.

She returned me few papers such as:
Call logs, emails, greeting cards,
Documents showing my fiancés visit to India (boarding pass, hotel and restaurant receipts)
Birthday gift receipts, original date of birth certificate,
I-134 supporting documents (bank statement, investment details, 2008-tax return) and X-ray report.

Finally, she told me to deposit the fees and informed me that K1 visa fees had increased to $350 US dollars. I submitted the bank draft and returned her 2 copies of t... read complete review
