Our experience was very nice. we arrived right before one PM, and were let in. we waited for about 2 hours then they called us to the window, they asked us where we were married and for how long. asked my husband where he met me, and that was it. got my visa one week later in the mail. entered the US with no problems and received my actuall green card only 1 months later (i thought it would take much longer as we had been married less then a year at that point). After a long 6 months of being apart, the last few steps went very fast, and we are very happy now. the only sad part is that the green card isnt green, it's white ! Good luck to you all and be calm for your interview and you will be fine!

Nicolas had his first interview for February 2007. He arrived and was herded in with the others. The wait wasn't long and everything seemed find except that his chronopost envelope was too small which made him have to leave the embassy and find the nearest post office (about 20 minutes on foot). He still thought all was well upon his return and he was told to expect his visa by mail in about 2 weeks. Two days later a call came from the embassy that there was a problem and he was to go back. When he did, he received a very curt and nasty interview in which he was told that he was trying to cheat with his entries to US by doing a trip to Canada. He was told on the spot to pay $565 for a 601 and 212 waiver. What a nightmare. We contacted the two Iowa senators who looked into things for us and said they found nothing wrong. They wrote to Paris and to Rome on our behalf but still no change. We complied with the requirements and mailed this 80 page waiver off to Rome in April. About 3-... read complete review

We went to our first interview November 13th 2006. Everything seemed to go fine. The interviewer asked questions, some too personal, and checked papers. She was sociable and pleasant to deal with. She said that the visa was approved, we would receive the passport in two weeks, but that there was just one item to check on and she would get back to us if it was any problem. one month passed. no passport. we wrote the embassy which said that there had been a change of personnel and that the new person wanted to see us and review the case. This person was also sociable. He said no that we could not be approved because the fiancée was disabled and we would need a co sponsor so that he would hold the form for one year and that we could be married in the us and then have the husband apply for a V1 or V2 visa so he could come and work/live in the US until we got a sponsor. April 29, 2007 Fiancé comes thru Dallas Ftw airport and is almost turned around, but a nice immigration offic... read complete review

Xavier's interview went smoothly, similar to the other experiences posted here. He did have to wait about 3 hours. But the interview itself was fairly short and sweet. Very basic questions (e.g. what do I do.) The only potentially scary one is that they asked if had met my father, who is our joint sponsor. He hadn't; so he said no, and that was it. No big deal.

I went to the medical in the morning (at 9:30) at Dr. Meyers: I couldn't take more than a day off work. When I called to get an appointment, I had her secretary who told me it was ok to have the blood test and X-ray done before the appointment and also said there were only looking for HIV. Well, when I got to Dr Meyer's office, she told me I was supposed to have everything done in Paris and that I needed to have other blood tests taken to check for Syphillis... I got a little panicked but things got better: I went to the blood analysis laboratory and they had the results before 12:30... One thing though that I didn't like that much is that I had to pay 160€ even though I made half of the medical in Saint-Etienne... Don't forget to get a double of the vaccination form and to keep the x-rays: you'll need them for your AOS.

I got to the embassy at 12:45 and waited in line about ten minutes. I went through security: it is a bit like at the airport: th... read complete review
