If your interview is scheduled during the winter months please be prepared for the cold weather it was -12 but with the wind felt like -23. They let us waiting outside, some people were totally unprepared for the cold, no hats, thin socks, a lady showed up with wet hair!!!!!!! She was literally freezing, I had to start jumping (I know, pathetic!!!0  IN ORDER TO DON'T LOSE MY TOES. Inside the process was quit fast, they didn't ask that many questions, they did appreciate the fact I had all my documents organized and I had the passport and interview letter in hand when they open the doors (at 7:30ish am)

I was the first in line, got there at 6:45 am, five min after people start showing up. Remember less is more when it comes to security, no cell phone, no large purses, no eletronics: ipods, laptops etc..

My review lady was a mess!!! (Person you present the documentation, originals and copies) she was all over the place!! Not very organized!!! She ... read complete review

I was surprised at how quickly and easily the process was through Vancouver. We arrived at the consulate early (they of course sent us away for 15 minutes). We arrived again at the scheduled time and were put through security. There are two sets so don't put stuff back in your pockets just carry them with you until through the second set.

We waited until called to window #3. We then handed in all the paperwork requested on our checklist. We had a seat again and waited to be called for the interview. Once called to the window we were asked general questions about how we met. Where we were married. Where we both worked. She verified my husbands income. Asked my daughter a couple of questions and asked her to sit down. Then asked me about her birth father (who has never been in the picture and is not listed on her birth certificate). She then told me to go get our medicals and we left.
We managed to get our medicals after some hassle. I ran back into ... read complete review

We arrived just before 8:00 am and took no time to get through security smoothly. We were prepared for security and carried only necessities with us. Once inside, we were given simple straight-forward written instructions as to what was needed in what order. As we went throught he various steps in the process, there was never any confusion and all of the staff was friendly and courteous. Each interview was non-confrontational and took less than 10 minutes. Each person was given a number and there was never any confusion about where you were to go next, and which documents were needed, at each step of the process. We were finished by 11:00 am.

Very efficient and pleasant. Many others have provided the details, which all proved accurate for our experience, as well. We had an afternoon appointment - 1:00 pm - but we showed up at 12:20 pm and were allowed in. Periodically got up to stand at a window and hand documents and answer questions, but for the most part it was just sitting and waiting. There were four other applications on the same afternoon. Without much drama, we were told we were approved, and that we could come back the next afternoon around noon to pick up my passport. Celebrated at dinner that evening, went back and picked up the passport at noon the next day - and met up with two other applicants from the day before doing the same thing.

My 12 yr old son and I flew to Vancouver for our interview in November. It was resonably painless! When we arrived at the Consulate, we had to go through 3 security check points where they checked our documents, made us walk through a metal detector and then let into a waiting room by a security guard. We were asked some questions at one wicket then asked to wait a while longer (which seemed like FOREVER!) Then we were called down a hallway and I was asked some question by an older oriental lady who was super nice and polite. She then talked to my son for a minute and we were finished!!! We were told to wait a few minutes then given the OK to come back the next day to pick up our visa's!!!!!
