Overall the interview experience was pleasant. The entire process took no longer than 10 min. I was asked only a few questions regarding how we met, when we met, and what I was planning on doing once I move to the U.S. I was congradulated on my approval and told to pick up the visa the following day at 4pm.
At that point we reserved a plane ticket thinking this was a done deal. The next day we were unpleasantly surprised that there was no visa. I was told to go home and wait - time period was not defined. We called the embassy and found out they needed time for additional processing with no further explanation. 24 agonizing days later I received a phone call from the embassy that the visa was ready to be picked up.
It would have been nice if we were told after the interview that there was going to be additional wait time. Not knowing how long the "AP" was going to take was heartbreaking. This is the only negative part of the whole interview experience.

After getting all my paperwork done, I called the Embassy on Tuesday and they scheduled my interview on Friday that week. I guess that's one of the benefits of living in a small country.
My interview was at 9.30 which was exactly the time they called my name. The lady working there took all of my forms, passport, photos, affidavit etc, then the next person took my fingerprints and right after that, the consul called my name and my interview started. He is a very nice and polite man, and we mostly talked about my photos that he asked for first. He asked me about the places in the pictures, when I went there etc. Then he asked me about my finace, how we met, where he worked and if I met anyone from his family.
I had my plane ticket copies, chat logs, messages... he didn't want anything. Not even my fiance's pay stubs or any papers from banks... though I didn't even ask if he wanted them.
Then, he asked if I could wait for a few more minutes, be... read complete review

The consulate was very professional and asked how we met, we my SO does for a living, does she live in an apartment or a house, how old we both were, what my SO's address was, when did we plan on getting married. It was over within a half hour.

Husband and I went to the interview together and everything went pretty smooth. We submitted documents, then waited for our turn. The embassy lady interviewed me only, while my husband was waiting in the hall behingd. I was surprised when she started asking me questions in the local language since I was ready to speak in English. The whole conversation lasted for some 15-20 minutes with questions such as "Where did you meet?, "Where will you stay?", "Where is your husband's family?" (for some reason she thought they were Bosnians). In the end she said:" Well, good luck in the United States. You can pick your passport tomorrow afternoon."

I was on interview at 1 pm 02.02.2009.in Sarajevo. They are check us and we are going in. In front of me was some couple and they was so slow because they have no all documents. My procedure after that was about 1 hour. Taking all prepared documents from me (15 minutes), taking fingerprints (waiting for guy who do that about 15 minutes) and talk with conssull. From all proofs that i was collect ( tickets, hotel bills, e mails, phone bills) they are only asked for together photos. So all going smooth and in relaxing atmosphere. So i was done at 2:30 pm. I am get that brown envelope next day after 4 pm. So i need to spend one more night in Sarajevo.
