  1. Hello all, I am sorry if this question has been answered before.

My wife had her interview completed in August and we have been in Admin Review ever since then. I do not live at the address that was listed on our original petition. How and where Do i change my address, Do i need to contact the embassy, is there a form I should use and where to file a change of address.

    Thank you

  2. I can understand what you are saying, Yes she is a naturalized British citizen since young age but born in one of the countries you mentioned plus the only other country I could think of she visited was with family back in the day to Egypt. She has travelled to the US and Canada frequently though. I can understand the whole process I guess.. I just hope it doesn't drag for a year like you mentioned that it may. It has been a few months since her interview was in August.

  3. yes I am working in one of those countries for the US government. This was never an issue at her interview and she did mention it to them. she was told you are not denied, they wanted a join sponsor because my income in 2010 wasn't much, even though I had made way too much money in 2008, 2009, and 2011. I had my brother filed a joint affidavit, sent them lease papers for the domicile in the US. now its in admin review. HE told her once we receive these documentation you will be mailed the visa. they didn't keep her passport either.

any suggestions? thoughts? time line i should be expecting?>

  4. My wife had interview on aug 6th, 2012 and was asked to provide more documentation in regards to us settling in the states since I work overseas for a government contractor. we since then submitted apartment lease agreement and a co sponsor for affidavit since they asked for a join because my income in the prveious three years was not consistent. The consulate received the documentation Sept 23, 2012, and never really heard from them till she called them and was told to send an email.

below is the response we got.. has anyone had this situation or know how long this admin review takes and what the process is?

Thank you for your email correspondence.

We can confirm that your documents have been received. Subsequently, the Immigrant Visa Unit determined that your application requires additional administrative processing, which is mandatory and cannot be waived or expedited. As processing varies in each individual case, there is no set period of time that it takes. Consequently, any times quoted should be used only as a guide and we cannot guarantee processing by any set date..

Please be assured that as soon as additional administrative processing in your case is complete, you will be notified.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Information Unit

  5. So I need an affidavit from a third party regardless? Intend to reside in the US would be something like If i would lets say rent my brother's rental house upon her arrival in the US and I accompany her to the US? DO i get a letter from my brother in that case that we will rent his place once She is ready to move to the US.

Yea she will be staying three months at a time till we figure out otherwise.

  6. Hello All so I need some help,

my wife had an interview today at the London Embassy, she was told that the pettitionor(I) need to be domiciled in the US. at the time when I applied i was living in the US. I currently work for a DOD contractor and residing on an Army base in Kuwait. She was also told to get an affidavit from a Third party since I am not domiciled in the US. I thought I am domiciled since I work for a US company and pay my taxes, registered to vote in the US and only been out of the US for 7 months so far. My current contract ends in December and we were planning on living Kuwait and then move back to the US. she was told her application is not denied, she doesnt have to come appear a the embassy again just send in a third party affidavit, and something that shows we will be living in the US like an apartment lease paper.

I am currently using my Sisters address in Texas since I don't have my own place back home because I didnt needed one. Should a letter from her that we will reside with her and arrange payment once my wife receive her visa be sufficent?

Am I not considered Domiciled in the US because I work for a US company and Pay US taxes?

    Thank YOu

  7. You can submit the AOS package as soon as the I-864 invoice shows paid and then the other package - the forms and documents - as soon as the IV bill is paid. You need the barcoded cover sheet and receipt for each invoice to go with each of the packets.

I'm sorry, I don't know for sure about the birth certificate but my instinct would be that she would need it. Have you submitted it at all so far? i thought a copy had to go with the original petition and then I am pretty sure the original has to go to NVC and that is as much for proof of your biographical information (since they always seem to require a long form with both parents' names), as much as for proof of citizenship. Have a look at the London Embassy link I gave you, there is a section on there about the documents required:

    http://london.usembassy.gov/document_checklist.html#birth_certificate

Just to make sure.. the barcoded cover sheet page is the invoice i received from NVC? and the receipt is when I paid the bill online correct?

I haven't submited anything since paying those two bills. I shall get on those as soon as possible I guess. I can print the bar coded coversheets from the site where I paid the bills right?

I didn't submit her birth certificate as we dont have one with the orignal petition. now to think of it I don't even have a birth certificate myself. I have my US natraliztion certificate which I sumbited with copies of the passport pages. in her case we just submited her bio date forms and copies of her passport picture page.

  9. You can book your medical as soon as you have your LND number and the results are valid for 12 months. You have to have it done before your interview but they won't send you anything about it. The information is all in these two links:

Thanks Cathy, I have another questions.

from reading over vj posts it seems like I can submit the aos packagae as soon as the iv bill shows paid online correct? also I have read that the beneficiary's birth certificate is required with one of the froms. My wife is UK citizen but she wasn't born there. She only has her UK documents like passport and Naturaliztion certificate. Does she still need a birth certificate from the country she was born in? or can the Uk natraliztion certificate will sufice instead of birth certificate?

    Thank you

  10. Saylin is the go-to girl for NVC procedures but you can take a look at my timeline and signature for an idea of UK specific timings.

Have you booked/had your medical yet?

Yes saylin responses are great. Thank you Saylin.

Looking at your timeline I noticed it goes straight from Lnd number recieved to booking medical?

we havent even received the aos package. I just paid the 404 fee this morning on the website.

aren't they going to send us information on where and when to schedule medical check and so forth?

  11. I paid the AOS fee of 88 dollars last week. now I got the bill for IV which is 404 dollars.

So to understand correctly there are no more fees after that ?

how long does it usually take for the counslate to get the file from NVC and how long does it usually take for the counslate to schdule somoene for an interview?

when do they ask for Affidavite of support forms etc?

  12. Hello VJ members.

I just recieved the IV bill and instructions to pay online, after a few days of sending the DS 3032. I paid the AOS processing fee last week.

now when I log in to the site it shows that AOS fee is paid but the option to pay IV bill is greyed out. Does it take a few days before I can pay it. Or is there any other reason? I have read a few post of people not having IIN but I go that already on the invoice for IV bill. I can log in perfectly but the option to click on the little box and pay is not there. its all greyed out.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  13. I understand your question and the answer would hinge on whether she can obtain the needed police clearance from Canada. Please note that she'll need this regardless of whether she obtains the visa in Montreal or London because she has lived in Canada more than six months since age 16. This is a DO IT YOURSELF site. Note the emphasis on DO IT and YOURSELF. Time do do the homework assignment I gave you and see what you find. Actually DO IT,.... YOURSELF.

Yes I do know that this is a DO IT YOURSELF site, and that is why I am here. I have been doing homework and asking questions here is part of the homework, The linkg you sent me is usefull no doubt but it doesnt answer questions like I have and I am just exploring my options and to see If there is anyone that have a similiar situation int he past that I can learn form.

    Thank you

  14. Can't figure out what part of any of my posts you're not understanding. Police clearance will be needed for Canada and England but those come months into the process. Check the link I gave you for how those are obtained and see if YOU see any problem.

sorry if it seems I am asking the same thing. my whole worry is that if she is not a legal resident in Canada anymore should I apply for her using her UK's address and she can go to the counsalte there to get her immigrant Visa. Offcourse its better if Its done in Canada but I don't wanna screw up my chances.
