Hello VJ friends,

So we have been in AP for over a year now. Embassy did request her passport in June and upon receiving they said due to the new developments they would need more time to review.. (probably her trips to meet me in Kuwait as I was working here).

Now that I am going back home to the US. and she would need to either visit me in the US or go back to England in the mean time around December. would it cause more delays if we request her passport back from the embassy?

I would like to wait as much as possible as we still have sometime in Kuwait, but don't want her passport stuck at the embassy forever and prevent her from traveling. when will be the best time to request her passport back if we are leaving from kuwait in December?

Here is what happend.

she had her interview in August of 2012. She told the interviewee that I work in Kuwait..and she will be joining me soon. I think that was the first reason he put her in AP. HE did say she wasn't denied and would need to just provide a domicile in the states and a new affidavit which we sent in. My home of record is stateside. all bank accounts etc. at the interview they didn't keep her passport but gave it back to her.

she traveled to Kuwait in October and was offered a job here so she stayed. she did go back to do another medical and police check when they asked in APril of this year and then came back to Kuwait.

in June they asked for the passport which i mailed to her parents in London and they sent it ot the embassy.. that is where we are.

we haven't considered that and i know its something i should think of.. we were hoping to get her GC then leave after a few months and get an extension.

Do you think there is anything I Do besides waiting.. any suggestions..

I know I don't have it as bad as a lot of people who wants to Immigrate to the US because we will be here for a while. My only worry is when we do end up going home that she can come with us.

Do I need to report to them somehow that she has moved here and no longer lives in London, any suggestions?

On receipt of your passport, the Immigrant Visa Unit determined that new information, which had developed since your passport was requested, meant that additional administrative processing of your application is necessary. This processing is mandatory and cannot be waived or expedited. You will be notified once the processing of your application has been completed.

the only thing that has changed since our interview was that,

I am a US government Contractor and currently live in Kuwait, so my wife has moved to Kuwait with me.

is this additional AP because of her moving to another country? From what I know one is not forbidden to travel while being in process is it?

when she moved to Kuwait it was a on a visitors visa, but she was offered a job here so she decided to stay in the mean time.

Do we need to report her moving to Kuwait and Employment?

it doesn't matter if you are male or female.. My wife has been in AP for over a year. she is a British National and was raised in England but born in Pakistan... so go figure.

She doesn't wear Hijab either. SHe is as western as they come yet still in AP so none of the stuff matters.

Arab nation or not.. I am US citizen grew up in US.. bur originally from Pakistan..and yes work for DOD so go figure. wife from UK but was borin in Pakistan . she was Four years old when moved to UK.. still in AP.. so don't be surprised to go into Ap...

it came back with info and stated that my email was deleted without being read..

I tried the state dep number and the lady told me that we are still in AP. I have a hard time believing her and I could be wrong but why would they ask for another police report and medical and then ask for her passport be sent in if we are still in AP.

Jenny .... the expensive code will not work anymore. the last one I had was prior to July 22nd and they never responded to that email. I have used the website visa contact info section and they have not responded.

I will contact the number knightbridge gave you to see what happens.

I have called the numbers you mentioned and use that contact info on the website as well. I have also contacted the new email address they have for the courier service.

I will call the dept of state number you mentioned as that is the only one I have not.

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of someone at the embassy.

we were in AP for almost a year. wife had an interview last year in August and was told she is not denied and won't have to come back to the embassy once AP is completed. In March they asked her to complete another medical and Police check. which was completed within a few days and sent to the embassy.

In July they asked her to send in her passport via DX service and they received it on July 22, 2013.

On July 26 they changed their whole contact syste and I can no longer email like i used to get an udpate with a code.

I have sent a couple of email thru the contact us section on visa contact form from the website and Have not gotten a response.

it has been over three weeks now and our return tracking number is still not showing any update on dx website.

CEAC website was showing us AP till August 7th, 2013. now it says expiring soon. which I am sure is DATA ERROR since they have asked and received passport from us.

Does anyone know how and where I can contact the embassy. I have tried every number listed on the website to no avail. They have gotten back to me via email. NVC stated that I need to contact the embassy and they do not have any info for me.

I would appreciate if anyone has anything other then I have tried so far to get a hold of someone at the London Embassy.

Hello again..I just need some input from you guys on my situation..

It's been exactly three weeks since the embassy received my wife's passport.. We have not heard anything back from them, London embassy has changed their whole phone system on how to respond. I did sent an email thru the contact form on their website but have yet to receive a reply after a week or so.

Nich,, thanks for your input. I did realize with all the changes to the phone system and courier. I might be just that.

I will be patiently waiting like i did for a year or so I guess..

Tomorrow will be exactly 20 business days that have had my wife's passport. So hopefully we will get it soon.

did they say she was denied because of Afd??/ We were asked for a co sponsor and income well above the guideline but not denied.

NVC stated that since our case is at the embassy they do not receive any updates. I have to contact the embassy.

Before I used to be able to call the London Embassy and they would provide you with code to use in an email and then get a response. Now they don't have that either.

I am hoping and pretty sure its data error since the embassy have been communicating with us and as late as July they asked for her passport.

Just wanted to see if anyone else have gone thru the same mess.

So my wife had an interview in Aug of last year. she was told to provide a new affidavit, and then was in AP for almost a year. few months back they asked her to redo her Police certificate and Medical which was completed in MAY. then in July they asked us to send in her passport to the embassy.

embassy received her passport on July 22, 2013. I have been checking the status on CEAC and usually it would be touched and shows still in AP..

today I saw this message popped up can anyone tell me if this is would be a mistake.. I used to be able to call the London Embassy and get a code to send them an email and they would respond.. now that has been changed and outsourced.

I sent in an email from the visa contact form and Have yet to receive a reply.

It still shows that we are in AP when I clicked on status.

I am just curious how many days to they take to issue visa, I just checked the tracking and they received the passport today.

does anyone know how long the embassy will take now to process the passport? they just recieved it today and I am curious to how many (hopefully Days) do they take to send it back?

How much time do you usually get to Enter the US after receiving your visa?

My wife was in AP for exactly one year after her interview in July 2012. Last month she was asked to submit a new police report and medical. Today we received an email to submit her passport via DX. is the wait finally over for us?

It doesn't matter how many years you lived in the UK or wherever. My wife was pretty much raised in UK since she was in Kindergarten. Her visa app was in AP for exactly 12 months.

so after almost a year and numerous calls to the embassy (which by the way cost about 30 bucks every time) only to receive a code and then you can email them. I got this message below.

Embassy records show that on March 8, the Immigrant Visa Unit asked you to provide additional information to support your case. Please provide a new U.K Police Certificate and in addition to that, you will be required to undergo a new medical examination with the Embassy panel physician. Further information concerning scheduling the appointment is available from our website: http://london.usemba...xamination.html

Please note, no further action can be taken until this has been received.
