Congrats for receiving Your US PASSPORT! I'm waiting for my oath ceremony hope it won't take long! I just passed my citizenship last wed..
Enjoy Being American Citizenship!

Actually question are random. I saw the officer holding a questioner so every sheet they have they might be 10 different questions but here are the ques I remember!
Under new naturalization test:
1. What is freedom of Religion
2.When was the constitution written
3.How many senators are there in the United states
4. Give one states that borders canada
5.What ocean you can see in the east coast
6.I forgot this ques. hehehe! sorry...(but guys promised it's easy aslong you red the book and listen to audio CD.
After the test the officer will let you read a sentence then write a sentence then you passed!
Bring all your oold and new foreign passport, original documents you submitted and guess what i even have all my documents from K-1visa,I-485,I-751 but he never asked for it. Bring passport/birtcertificate of your spouse(brought the two to make sure). My interview took only 5mins and we drove for almost 3hours plus traffic. But it's worth it! Don't forget to pray for a very good officer to conduct your interview bec. I had answered prayer for that!
I really appreciate all your greetins Guys!
Goodluck to all and God bless!

Has anyone taken a class to help with the civics questions? I am considering doing this as history has never been my strongest subject (give me Biology or Biochemistry any day!).
I don't know though if there is one held near where I live (Fort Worth, Texas) and would have to start checking the schools and colleges.
Hello There! Promised you don't have to go to a class for your citizenship test, they gave you a booklet with audio just read and play the audio(memorization only) and 100% you will passed. It's easy I just took my test last wed. @ jacksonville with new naturalization test it's easy they will give 10 questions if you answered 6 correctly then you passed okey.
Goodluck!

Hello to All!
I would to tell to everybody that I took the citizenship test yesterday @ Jacksonville, Fl and I passed(I answered 6 questions, I red a sentence and wrote it). It's easy just read the booklet and I'll wait for my oath ceremony w/in 90 days.
By the way, Thank so much for all your help guys! This website is a blessing and God bless America!

OK, not sure what to make of this now. We've sent the N-400 last Mon, 4/06 via Certified Mail with return receipt. Upon checking the status on USPS later in the week, I got this message:
"Status: Notice Left
We attempted to deliver your item at 12:02 PM on April 8, 2009 in PHOENIX, AZ 85036 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to www.usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."
I know this is pretty common with items being sent Certified with return receipt to a P.O. Box and that it eventually gets picked up, usually the next business day or so. But this is a week later now and the message remains unchanged on the USPS site. At this point I guess we can only wait and see what happens next, as it certainly won't do any good to contact USPS for more info.
Has anyone experienced such delay in having their application delivered to one of the lockboxes recently? I suppose I'm looking for some reassurance that our package won't just sit there unclaimed for 15 days, only to get returned later. We have a trip planned for late May and we kinda tried and time this, so that I would be scheduled for Biometrics before our trip. That was feasible, from looking at the other timelines, but now it's cutting it too close with not much wiggle room. I forgot how nerve wracking dealing with USCIS can be
Hello there! Sorry for the message you got from usps, I sent my N-400 4/15 via express mail in texas with their address for express/courier& paid $24.20 and it's worth it bec. it's overnight only and they did received it 4/16 1:18pm. They also left notice around 10:42 and 10:52 4/16 then finally @ 1:18 delivered& signed by C smith form uscis.

Wow,
I just sent my N-400 package, and it feels great.
I was looking at my timeline and I sent my first package to USCIS (for the finace visa) 4 years to the day.
I just wanted to share this with my Fellow VJer's.
Thanks for the support and advice. I wonder how much $$ we've saved by using VJ and not a lawyer
Good Luck on your Journey.
Hello there! Goodluck & at least you sent yours! I am about to send my application soon through fiance visa. If you won't mind what are the documents you sent?
Thank YOu very Much!

It's been awhile since we've posted any updates, lol, because there haven't been any. We finally got frustrated and faxed Senator Mel Martinez here in Florida today. Hopefully, he can get an answer from USCIS.
Thanks

Hello There! I guess both of you waiting for her 2 years green card right? call uscis, I waited for 6mos. before i received my GC.

Hi Everyone,
It has been a while but we are back for my wife's path to citizenship.
I am filling out the form and I noticed on the instruction in indicated we need to send two photos and a copy of her green card (front and back) only along with the check
But after looking at the M-476 instructions since we are doing the citizenship based on marriage after 3 years they are asking for Tax returns, birth certificates, etc.
My question is do I need to send these forms out or these are the forms that may be required by the officer at the time of the interview?
This is confusing since if you are going by the instructions of the N400 form you only need to send those forms but form M-476 indicates other stuff.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks as always!
Yes You need to send 2 valid photos and copy of GC.

I went to the oath ceremony this morning in San Diego. I arrived at 7:30 and there was already a pretty big line, the doors were opening at 8am. There were about 500 people waiting for their citizenship ceremony accompanied with friends and family.
We checked in, they took our green card and gave us a little american flag and an American history book.
The applicants were separated from the friends and family. The officer started by giving the schedule There were some military members in the audience, so he started by recognizing them. Then, local dancers were call to make russian dances (yes, that was strange). This was a bit too long to my liking.. Then the federal judge appeared and started giving a speech and named all the 63 countries represented. We had to stand up when our country name was given, there was another French person that stood up with me. The most number of people that stood up at the same time were from Mexico, the Philippines, and Vietnam. There was a lot of cheering, it was great!
Then we all stood up and repeated the oath after the judge, then she said "Congratulations you are now American citizens" everybody cheered. The judge was very emotional and that was the part I liked most, of course.
A representative from the Daughters of the Revolution made a speech and that was followed by two guys and two girls singing four patriotic songs.
We then gave the pledge of allegiance to the flag (which I wish I learned before going, I didn't expect that and they didn't give us any paper with it so I had no idea of what to say).
Then we proceeded to get our certificate of citizenship, and exited the ballroom. Outside there were booths to register to vote, but no passport application booth, so I will get that done tomorrow.
I'm glad i'm done with the USCIS!
Mattr.

Check the requirements for renewal at the Philippine consulate that handles your state. There's a good amount of documents they ask for but you call them if you have questions. Goodluck!

Warm Greetings To all!
I am here again to ask a big help about my 10 yr GC it's been 9 months never heard form USCIS I filed my 175-1 last Feb.08,biometrics done Macrh 19. I have temp. 1year stamp visa will expire on 3/18/09 plus my passport will expire on 01/07/07. Do I need to renew my passport soon and get Info pass or I should talk to Immigration first before renewing it. Yesterday I received letter from Job that I should get a new visa again for 03/18/09 where my temporary visa expires. I am worried bec. once i'll renew my passport ( we always returned the old one right ) so I'll lose my temp. one yr visa But My plan is to xerox all the pages of my old passport.
Please any idea, opinion is highly appreciated! Thanks a lot!
God bless You all and Goodluck!

Hi everyone,
Russell and I (the USC) are planning on shipping out the good ol' package to CSC tomorrow and I was going to see if you guys would mind telling me what you think about our List O' Evidence? I'm suspecting it's a little overkill but I just read someone's post last week about how they got RFE'd for no apparent reason and I'd like to avoid that.
The only thing I'm a little worried about is the fact that we don't have any bank records from 2/06-2/07, but we have joint bills and such between that time. I'd really like to avoid going to Wells Fargo if possible because, well, I was so happy to be done with them back in 06! But I will if you think I should. Also, we don't really hang out with very many people outside of work until recently, so my mom and brother did our affadavits. I hope that will be okay too.
Thanks!
