  1. hi! ok first of all thank you all for this forum it has helped me so much and guided me through all of this with out a lawyer:D...okk here goes our petition was approved on April 25 2011 and it spend only 4 days at the national visa center in where the case was sent to the wrong embassy in Buenos Aires. i was hoping to catch it at the NVC before it left so i could do the change from there but due to some wrong and different information we were not able to change the case to Colombia. the case arrived in Buenos Aires Argentina a week later in where we contacted both embassies for the change to Colombia, the case left Argentina but it has not arrived to Colombia, we only have 2 months for the rest of the process and i think is not going to be enough time ...so how can i extend my fiancée petition another 4 months until we get our interview date? i really do not want it to expire we have been through so much i just want everything to go as smooth as possible please helpp!!

  2. i had the same problem at nvc they gave me wrong information the 5 times i called but any how my petition was sent to buenos aires argentina, now i needed to go to my fiancées home country Colombia. you need to contact the embassy that you want your process to be handled in and ask them to request your petition from the wrong embassy when this is done try to contact the other embassy to see if you case is still there and when its supposed to be sent to the other embassy!..it takes a month longer than usual but i mean you have waited the most waiting one more month is not that much hope it helps!

  3. ok this case is a bit complicated, so here goes we received our NOA2 for fiancée petition in April 2011, the case was originally sent to Buenos Aires Argentina as my fiancée was living there due to his studies. on January 2011 he had to move back to Colombia due to some foreseen circumstances, i tried to make the change of embassy in the NVC but it was too late and i did not get to do the change in time before it left to Buenos Aires. so my question is what can i do now? im so desperate to know where my case is!

  4. i heard that to withdraw you visa both signatures from the petitioner and the beneficiary had to go along with the letter, stating that the relationship was over and request to stop the process...not sure tho if it is true..hope everything goes well and you might want to give it a chance you never know what might happen in these 5 months of wait time!

  5. How's the wedding plans coming along? You doing OK girl? :luv:

    Mari

well i do not have an exact day yet, but its going to be a small wedding as all of this process has taken our funding for the wedding but we are both fine by the idea of the small wedding, it will actually be in my house(close to the beach) with some friends and family members something very casual. i already have my dress but the rest of the preparations i will do them in a later date when he is approved, and i am done with school for this semester.:) probably in may i will have much more time to plan details.

  6. hi colombiana, i am in you same situation right this minute, my fiancée is 23 years old and i am 20. we are both students and not economically independent. this is not a problem for proof of relationship have call records, Skype/msn conversations and a lot of pictures, along with your passport stamps and you will be fine. i am also hopping for an interview in the summer as that is the time of the year that i am free, based on when i applied i will probably have my interview by then, but remember that the normal waiting time for approval is 5 month and usually colombia take one to two month to give an interview once approved! so just apply for the petition you will be fine if you have an ongoing relationship and just wait the normal time, and if the interview is while you are in school remember that it is not mandatory for you to be there:)

  7. that link is for people living in the united states with an immigration process, in order for you to change embassy or address you need to contact the NVC once your NOA2 is approved and let them know about the change. if your K1 visa reaches the embassy before you can make the change, you need to call them and ask them to change you address/ or send it to your desired embassy! hope this helps :)

  8. hi!

i am filling for a k1 visa for my fiance who is currently in Colombia, i Was just wondering if in all the documents required in the packet #3 have to be apostillados? this is like the stamp they put on them. Is this necessary for all documents? i would really appreciate the help, we are trying to get everything ready while waiting for our NOA2 and we are super hopeful and exited we just do not want anything to go wrong and we want to be as prepared as we can!

  9. I am so sorry to hear that. BTW, when you said "worth", you meant worst right? Hope I didn't offend you, I just want to make sure I understand you. Well here is my question for you then: When exactly did you do the conslate change - that is, where was your paperwork located when you made the change? The reason why I asked this is because called the number (202-663-1225) that YuAndDan gave me and they said that since our paperwork is on it's way to the NVC, this would be the ideal time to do the change. They also said, that once the paperwork is sent to London and we request a change, then that could cause an additional hold up (3-6 months) because this rerouting is not a priority for them.

i thougth you could change the consulate when it arrived at the NVC, there is no need to send it to london to then have it sent to brazil. once they contact you from the nvc arfer your aproval you should requerst the cosulate change! so it directly get sent to brazil :)
