august filer here, had my biometric sept.4 ,2012... waiting and waiting...... seems like forever.

me and my 7 year old son got here in US last year May 2012,back in Philippines, he went to public school. from nursery to 1st grade he got 1st place.but when i got here i had a doubt that he will be having hard time ,he speak basic english and understand simple conversation but can hardly speak.he just answer yes or no,good ,bad .i knew he is good in english subject but only in written.that makes me worried on the first day of school last year september. we even notified the teacher, principal, bus driver and even canteen staff that if they have hard time to understand my son, they will just call us. first day was like i'm having heart attack wondering how was it or if he was crying or feel left out or having trouble understanding. it was terrible day for me . i kept asking him hows the school ,the only answer i get was "GOOD" . until i received the first report card, i was shocked because he got straight "A" and note from his teacher that he made a progress...been here for almost a year now, he never speak Filipino at home ,not at all..i talked to him in our language but answered me in english. he can communicate very well. and he correct me somtimes too.
aww... no worries about it. they adjust easily than adults. the last report card i got this month, was still straight "A"s. i am so proud. but anyway, have to tell you this, i noticed their lesson here is far behind back then in Ph. when i checked my sons test papers they were like nursery lesson. our education is a lot better than here. thats what i can say.

i filed aos last august 2,and had my biometric last sept.04...i didn't file EAD along with my aos. just month ago,i decided to file for EAD coz i really wanted to work since my AOS wasn't approve yet.seems like forever.
now i'm confused coz they sent me appointment letter for EAD biometrics . my question is, do i have to do another biometric since I'm done having one for AOS? i called them, and the lady i talked said i shouldn't have get another one , and then i doubted,i called again then i spoke with a guy and he said i should go for it. . btw, it's just the local USCIS is too far to travel. the agents i spoke confused me with different answers. maybe here someone will enlighten me. thanks.

in my case, after we got married i applied for SSN with my married name and they just asked marriage cert. and my friend who lives in the other city (same state) they dont allow her to use her married name she was told to change it when she got her GC. .. it's very confusing though..

hey i had same situation too. was under treatment for six months. i lived in dormitory where some of the tenant are having treatment is st.luke too. but most are students and worker. anyway, she can stay there for 2500 a months.and she can met friends too in same situations.and there is a cheap cafeteria next to the dormitory where cheap and clean where most employer in robinson eats there..good luck and best wishes for both of you.

just tell your fiance not to worry about questions... they asked simple things. like names, age, where and how you met .if the question answerable by yes or no then just yes or no. no further answer. less talk less mistakes.. make sure she have all the documents. and if shes lucky sometimes consul will just ask name and age.

8 months of medical? =(..this seems so near yet so far
just 6 months, medications. but after the medications, she need to get re-medical(you will pay again for it) then after the re-medical you have to wait for the result that takes couple of weeks or month.then after the result she needs to get schedule for embassy ...thats why i say 8 months.that ncludes embassy and visa waiting..
-
sorry to hear that... "been there done that" and yes 6 months going back and forth to st luke was suck... but i made it.. and it was all worth it... 8 months to be exact...6 months treatment and another 2 months of waiting (for result of last sputum,re-medical and interview.) 8 months all. be patient and she will be fine though.. and about symptoms.. i dont have any of it.. nothing.

KAUFMAN HERE... (FORNEY CITY)
-
that would be bad news
sorry about that.. been there ,done that.. i was in the same situation too.tell your fiancee to start the medication right away, dont waste time.. btw, if your fiancé lives far from st.luke, there is a ladies dormitory besides robinson its just 2 blocks away from st.luke. most of the tenant there are having medications in st.luke ...some works in hotel and some are students. i rented there for 9 moths.6 months for medications and another 3 months until my interview in embassy done.(im from mindanao) so its hard for me though. good thing my son as k2 was having no problem, but he has to go for X-ray every 3 months. i had to fly back to mindanao and take him to manila and take him back again in mindanao after x-ray. such a big ordeal but we made it , were now in US for 3 months now. dont worry about that, it's not only her,a lot lot of fiances having medications. 1 month would be hard going back and forth everyday just to take medicines not including saturday and sunday.it was crazy BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. GOOD LUCK and BE PATIENT.
