killing distance got a reaction from M&A2 in Documents required at the Tirana Consulate for IR-1/CR-1 interview
    hi all.
September 1, i was the only K1 approved that day. it was a horrible day til the interview. a lot of AP's that day. i don't think this is related to JAN 21 or any diplomatic or political relationship between AL-USA. they have been very friendly to us Albanians historically regardless of idiots in power through out time. the US ambassador is very popular in albania. he could win every political election if he runs right now :)
if you have eye glasses yes, you have to go to your doc and make him write a letter that says the number of lenses and blah blah. i did mine at italoptica, rruga e dibres prane selvise.. if you go there he knows what he have to write in that letter. this letter is needed at the second time you go to the embassy doc.
    if i can add this:
for skype chat logs printing out a "screen shot" can be very expensive in TR.
you can open the skype chat window. on top of the conversation search for "show messages from" and click on the older date possible. once it has displayed all the chat history with your loved one, simple right click anywhere in white space and than choose "Select All". CTRL+C on the key board and CTRL+V on any word or text document. save it on a USB and with that in hand go to the nearest internet caffe. you will see kids playing Counterstrike, dont bother!!
i really wish Tirana embassy start giving visas like cop here gives tickets. yep.. i got my first one
    best of luck to all.
    bye

You can check to see the Criteria for the Embassy's Civil Surgeons on our Thread Map! Page 23, Post # 341. You can find the Prep for Med Exam on Page 22, Posts # 316+329 (How come you don't know what's on our Thread Map? This is what you get for not visiting more often! LOL)
Anyway, typical Embassy Required Exam includes but not limited to: Blood work, Xray, physical exam, and vaccinations. If you have your medical history / records from you private physician, you should bring those for this exam. All vaccines must meet a specific criteria listed by the US CDC (Center for Disease Control) and ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices); hence why I mention the Thread Map as this was posted back in the beginning of FEB 2011, so we all understood what our Bene's would need to do to prep for this exam vs. running around and trying to dig up Medical history's in their country. So your question was answered for you!!
Congratulations on your NOA2 and GOOD LUCK on the next step!!!

I'm so excited for the Decemberites! Yeah!!! Both centers working up a sweat now!!! LOL they must be in our Decemberite Fitness Challenge! LOL LOL LOL....
I have called the NVC and they say that it's 2-4 weeks before they send your file to your Embassy. From that point, the Embassy will send you(Notice only) and your Bene' their packet #3 + Invite letter which they must bring with them to Interview (Make copies for souvenir! LOL )
Also, they send you the interview date with packet #3 (Ankara does anyway-- not sure about all other embassy protocol). They must have all documents sent to them. Be sure to check three times (3x for your sanity)--- of which must be original signatures and which can be copies. If copies, then your bene brings in the originals to interview.
FEES: Gov't assigned bank ; FEES MUST BE EXACT and KEEP RECEIPT FOR INTERVIEW as proof of payment (for Ankara, they want Fortis Bank --- so make sure you check with your Embassy of where they want you to pay, because each one has a system of how they want us to accomplish this). So if your Groom or Bride is hip on getting their packet required docs done before they get the list, good on you... (not like K and his "oh in 3 more mos!" ....piss me off..... really.. LOL ... Where is my left slippah!)
So far, so good ... Petitioner: Use the time the that you're waiting for the NOA2 or wait time NVC still has your file, to copy your Tax Records (either Transcripts or Tax Filings), get the letter from your Employer and copy of your pay stubs. Don't forget to send original copy of I-134 form with it to your Bene. Make 2 extra copies of this... keep one and send one to bene for the just in case! Other than that, it should be smoothe sailing!
Ha! I roflmao when I read that Joan! omg if you saw me yesterday you would take that statement back! LOL LOL In fact, I was big time "Cheechin' & Spazzing out" trying to get my work done... so I went to get my eyebrows 'threaded" lol. I have to know how the lady is going to do my brows for our wedding day! lol lol!!
I called the NVC this morning on your question SammyD, and they told me that we need the Bar Code ID paper which they send us from Embassy with Packet #3 ( Identification purposes so our file doesn't get lost?).
This Bar Code paper gets sent back with our Bene's required documents prior to their interview. *I recommend you make a copies of this since it ID's our file. *
In case you have any questions regarding your Bene's Embassy, I am leaving you with fone #'s for NVC & the Main Visa Office which deals directly with each Embassy!
    Here is the NVC: 603-334-0700
(press 1 for English, 5 for human to speak with you). They will ask you for Beneficiary's name and Date of Birth. Then ask same of Petitioner. They will confirm your phone # & email addy.
Here is the US Dept of State -- Main Visa Office in Washington DC: 202-663-1225
You call this one when NVC cannot answer your question only. They (NVC) typically will refer you to this one when they're unsure about your Embassy specifically & you cannot get a hold of your bene's embassy yourself.
    Love to you all!
    Mari

I've been tweeting today, its great to go to the @uscis page and see SO MANY of our tweets there!
My petition is at VSC and I'm extremely concerned since I have my wedding planned for 11-11-11, and my embassy in Canada is known for being slow as well. I CANNOT wait more than 6 months for my NOA2 and I CANNOT lose my wedding. So anyone showing up in this thread to naysay or try and bring us down, you're being pointlessly mean when we are all already under a lot of stress. Help us or leave us, please.

What do we want... FASTER PROCESSING!
When do we want it.... NOW!
    A letter of ecouragement.
There's an organization named "Numbers USA" and what they do is organize public opinion. They do so in a manner not too differently than the way we are. Their objective is to defeat immigration laws that are contrary to the ideals that they as an organization support. And they do this by faxing "protests" to Congressmen and Senators so they don't vote for a particular immigration bill.
How do they do it... by faxing the House and Senate.
Have they had an effect.... OH MY GOODNESS, YES!
What allows them to be so powerful?... THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATE.
****THIS IS VERY SIMPLE, GUYS..... Keep going.. the # of Tweets is good... WE NEED MORE PEOPLE, though. We don't just want to be noticed, we want to have an impact.
*PS: I have contacted "Numbers USA" to see if they would allow us to be a part of the issues they protest. They said they will get back to me, but I think what we are doing may fall outside of the paradigm of what they usually do. Nevertheless, we are doing essentially what they do.

As we all know the Vermont Service Center as it stands today is:
30 days slower than the California Service Center "CSC"
71 days slower than the Texas Service Center "TSC"
For me, it is most frustrating since I am in Texas.
Had my case not been transfered to Vermont, I would have NOA2 by now.
Everyone has their story, and for that matter their own perspective. So, please allow me to address those who are satisfied with the system as it stands now; If you don't believe in our movement, please just disregard our topic, and please do not divert our energy by engaging any of our posters by submiting contrary opinions, philosophies or beliefs. If you disagree with our topic, please just move-on. To all of those part of the movement, just disregard any posters that try to engage you negatively.
    We must stay focussed.
    So that said...
Please allow this to serve as the official kick-off to the "K1Vermonters" movement.
To all those who's k1/k3 is in queue to be adjudicated at the Vermont Service Center:
    1. If you wait to take action until you've hit the 6 month mark you might be in for a nasty surprise. If USCIS extends what is known as "Outside of Normal Processing Time" (ONPT) from 5 months to 6 months, you might have to wait 7 months before you can submit an "expeditious processing request". USCIS will allow a petitioner to submit an expeditious processing request once their application exceeds 30 days ONPT. But if that threshold is pushed out from 5 months to 6, we will ALL be in a worse position -- WE MUST ACT NOW
    2. If you think there's nothing that you can do, that we/you can't make a difference; I promise that's not true -- TODAY ALONE WE MADE A HUGE NOISE on Twitter -- WE MUST ACT NOW
    3. Just blogging on VJ (here) might be comforting and provide an outlet for frustration, but in the end it has no effect on USCIS processing times. You can continue to enjoy and chronicle/document your timeline, but I encourage you to put at least some energy into our movement, you never know where your case will be down the road -- WE MUST ACT NOW
    4. Even if you are not in the VSC, if your service center starts to backlog and there's no repercusion for the administrative staff, you might find yourself where we K1Vermonters are.. DELAYED -- WE MUST ACT NOW
    5. No matter what your situation is, I encourage you to join our movement, to change processing times for current k1 petitioners and future petitioners. -- WE MUST ACT NOW
How and Why must we "ACT NOW"?
    Why..
    - As the "K1Vermonters" our movement has momentum - we were in the top groups today alone "tweeting" @BarackObama
    How..
-Get on Twitter and create a profile
    - Write messages to:
    @USCIS
    @BarackObama
Members of the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law Membership:
    @eltongallegly24 @dan_lungren @JudgeTedPoe @zoe4congress @RepHowardBerman @RepJacksonLee @MaxineWaters
    - Always keep your messages under 40 characters
    - MOST IMPORTANTLY: **ALWAYS INCLUDE "#K1Vermonters" in your Tweet. The latter is the list name that currently has momentum and to which we need to continue to add momentum
    - Tweet at least 5 times per day ..think of it as a picket line, a strike. Remember the old days? This is how we do it now.
    - Answer other posts/posters on VJ by redirecting them to our movement/topic
If anybody has something to add, please contribute.
May God help us all get our loved ones to our dear country!

    Dizzy's VJ TWITTER LESSON
Ok, gang. So a lot of you are brand new to twitter. So I wanted to give a rundown of what exactly twitter is and how it works.
    1. The site is www.twitter.com
    2. The sign up is simple. All you need is a valid email address and a catchy idea for a user name. Sign up. Verify. And you're ready to tweet.

    3. Twitter is based on a very simple idea: 140 character status updates:

    4. If you put "@" immediately in front of any twitter user's name (i.e. "@USCIS"), the user will receive your tweet via notification. This is called a "mention" (get it? you are "mentioning" @USCIS in your tweet). If the user is so inclined, they can see the entire list of these "mentions" by clicking on their "mentions" tab from the home page.

    5. You can fortify your tweets by adding a "hash-tag". A hashtag is any word used in your tweet that is made clickable by adding the "#" sign in front of it. It basically turns whatever word you have put "#" in front of into a searchable keyword. For example, If you are tweeting this status update "Man, I really love chocolate icecream" and changed it to "Man, I really love chocolate #icecream". the word "icecream" would become a clickable link and anyone could click on it to find other tweets that have the same "hashtag" in it. So, for example...if we clicked on #icecream, we may get to see a list of 300 tweets that are talking about icecream! (this can sometimes be really hilarious)

    6. Trending topics. Trending topics are advertised hashtags. They occur when thousands of people are talking about the same hash-tag. For example, when Egypt overthrew their president, they used the hashtag "#Egypt". After thousands of tweets containing the hashtag "#Egypt" had accumulated, the hashtag become a clickable link advertised to the entire world. People clicked on it to see what people were talking about, and that's how we found out that Egypt was trying to overthrow their president.
So, What does this mean for us?
We can create our OWN hashtag and start our OWN trending topic. Luckily, the USCIS has a twitter page located at www.twitter.com/USCIS.
In order for our tweets to become a trending topic, we must all be using the same #hashtag. I suggest we use #VSCBacklog. For those of you NOT at VSC, you can still use the #VSCBacklog to help us trend the topic, while still adding your own flavor to your tweet.
For example "@USCIS My petition is in limbo at CSC!!! Please speed up the I129F Process! #VSCBacklog" Although the backlog does not apply to you, you can still piggy back onto our trending topic to make sure your tweet is seen by millions when our tweets become a trending topic.
It's is also VERY IMPORTANT that you have a profile picture for your twitter. Many times, twitter is bombarded by spambots. A spam bot is an advertisement robot posing as a twitter user. They almost NEVER have profile pictures. In order to be taken seriously (i.e. human) on twitter, it's imperative that you add some sort of profile picture. In this case, a picture of you and your honey would be wonderful (and applicable).
If you have any questions about how to tweet, please ask! I'd love to help.
And remember, it doesn't matter WHAT you say, just so long as you have "#VSCBacklog" somewhere in your tweet, your tweets WILL BE GROUPED with everyone else's.
    Good luck!

    RE-TWEETS
Re-tweets are probably the EASIEST, FASTEST, and BEST way to turn 500 tweets into 1,000 tweets. Re-tweets is when you quote someone else's tweet by clicking the "Re-tweet" button directly under their tweet. This action will automatically post that tweet and it DOES COUNT as a brand new tweet.

It is beyond assinine that it takes FIVE MONTHS to get from NOA1 to NOA2 .. think about it..
My fiance and I have been through enough already. We have spent THOUSANDS visiting one-per-month in Europe.
Has it been fun to do it? Yes, but the problem is it not out-of-choice.
Anyway... let's unite! If anyone reads this post, note the others as well. These folks are proactively addressing the delay. Let's make a difference together.

hi all Vermont K1 fillers. you can see that i have a lot of time and distance. so im killing it!!
this is what i did. i installed google earth on my pc. now its version 6 beta. they have added some new futures but one of this it is particularly interesting to us who have eyes and ears to Vermont. so if you open google earth and search for "USCIS Vermont" it will show you the building where those escargots and turtles are working on our K1's.(no offense to animals).now if you click the clock icon on the top bar "show historical imagery" you can see the same building and the parking lot in different times. 6 shots are available starting from 99, 03, 04, 08, 09 and 2010. my favorite one its 2004. very clear shot and you can count the cars on the parking lot. :) nearly 140 cars are parked that day. it must be around 9-11 o'clock in the morning judging from the shadow on trees. so its a full working day for our loveley USCIS adjudicator officers. now... not all the cars there belong to "people who make couples happy" but let say in 140 cars must be 50 of them who works on files. from this 50 lets say 10 who only works on K1...hmmm ok... 15 who works on K1... happy now!! WHERE IS MY NOA2???
i must say here that the the number of cars parked there its +/- the same throughout years. the most desolating image from this building comes from January 1 2010. its a day off, and has been snowing. so i think now to all that snow that fell this winter (( and the days off...
i have a question for you: can escargots drive cars? ))
to all K1 Vermont out there. hang on... we will make it. we just need to use a little bit more sense of humor to end our endless days )
