  • Our Story
Joey was 28 yrs. old and I was 24 when him and I met on a dating site way back February 2009. He was a member since 2004 and my best friend just signed me in for she's tired of me being single of almost 2 yrs. We never thought something special like this would turn out from that everyday conversation, at first he was hesitant to visit me due to financial issues but just right after one month of talking regularly on Skype, he surprised me with a ticket to come visit me. I reacted okay, as if I'm cool him visiting me and then I asked permission if I can just get something in the kitchen, and that when I started to scream and jump for joy! It was one of the happiest day of my life. We spent our time in Boracay, Palawan, and my hometown in Naga City. He stayed 19 days on the first visit and he flew back again last March 2010 to come see me for the second time and stayed 21 days, but this time it was special. I have no clue that he is going to propose to me cause we never really talk about getting married. I mean just surpassing the idea but nothing really serious. I was speechless when he proposed to me and all I can say is ahhhhhhhh...followed by sobbing sound cause I was crying. "tears of joy' ;) then I said "YES" and that was also the first time I saw Joey cried and I could never forget that night :D so we told our families about our plans and they are all excited for the two of us. :) Then processing for my K1 visa starts and almost 6months till I got approved and for me it was the longest day of my life!!! counting the days till I get to see him again is a pain, but luckily everything went smoothly and I flew here in the States last February 11, 2011 and now we're married!!! Life here in the States is totally different from the life that I'm used to in the Philippines...no driver, no maids and of course no family and friends. I kinda missed all of those stuff but I know I have to establish something for my self and our soon to be family. We're now partners and even though it's tough to leave everything behind...I'm sure glad I made the right decision to marry my husband :)
