CANbirdUSman got a reaction from shipm662 in Civil surgeon said I need to undergo another medical exam?!?
I struggled to understand this part of the process when I went through it.
I did NOT have another medical exam, because I had just had one & everything was completed properly.

Form I-693 Instructions: page 5 of 9 Section III Frequently Asked Questions 3. What if I am a K non-immigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas? If you were admitted as a: K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a b.K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and c.You received a medical examination prior to admission, then: (1)You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver. (2)Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

When filling out my forms I did the following for the 'medical portion':
Cover page for this section reads:

Form DS-3025/Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (1 page)

Second page of this section, included this statement:

*See attachment for copy of Form DS-3025*
    Vaccination Documentaion Worksheet (Form DS-3025)
    from Panel Physician

Per instructions for I-693, the form is not required as a medial exam for K1-Visa
was completed within the last year

Medical Examination for issuance of non-immigrant fiance K1-Visa
    completed MM/DD/YYYY

Third page is a copy of:
Vaccination Documentaion Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from Panel Physician

    Hope this helps you.

Mail it when the 90 days period starts, or shortly after... like a couple days.
    Good luck.

Yes, good advice to get a letter from your Provincial Medical Provider, prior to moving to the US (so you don't have to wait for it...).

BCBS of Louisiana, never asked my husband (fiance at the time) for anything from me. They just added me onto his plan.

So, if there's an issue, such as the 'waiting period' for medical coverage, for pre-existing conditions, the form I posted about from BCBS, may help.

Being healthy is the best way to keep your bills down....lol...

    Much Aloha

I was a resident of BC for 18 years. *Not sure how other countries medical works, just Canada & learniing the US system one bill at a time*

Currently residing in HAWAII, USA, I have medical coverage under my husbands BCBS of LA plan. (BlueCrossBlueShield of Louisiana).
I now understand why many say Canada has 'free' healthcare. Over the past 7 months, I had to undergo certain medical services, that could not wait, testing for cancer. All clear, thank goodness.
I was prepared to pay whatever the cost, as I wasn't going to 'wait' whatever amount of time the insurance company tells you to wait. I was following the orders of a docotor in Canada/BC to 'follow-up' on what could be breast cancer. THAT's something that must be taken seriously.
Anyway, I questioned many of the statements that BCBS sent to me. At first I was covered for certain things, then a second statement would say not covered. One fine day, a lovely agent asked me about my PRIOR HEALTH CARE COVERAGE. As a prior resident of BC, CANADA, I had coverage under the Medical Service Plan, for 18 years! I had them send me a letter stating that. And I had BCBS email & mail me a PRIOR HEALTH CARE COVERAGE form. That form, saved me over $1,500. YES... One thousand five hundered. I don't know who actuallly covered most of my bill, I think the state of Hawaii, but at least I'm not having to pay for something I was told to follow-up on, by a medical professional. Maybe Canada paid it? I'm thankful either way.
It's something to ask about if your covered under BCBS. Insurance companies don't tell you about these things, you need to dig deep. Glad I did.
I plan staying away from any doctors if I can help it.
    Peace Out.

It's all about hoops and waiting. Welcome to the club my friend.
Once your Canadian fiance 'aka' future wife', gets her Green Card, she doesn't 'become an American Citizen'.
She'll be a Canadian citizen, with 'conditional permanent residency' (2 years).
It's not mandatory for her to become an an american citizen. MORE hoops if she wants to sign up for that.
We all get frustrated with the process. Keep in mind & remember why you both decided to do this.
You're in this together & we've all been there, one way or another.
    Best of luck.

CANbirdUSman got a reaction from ethomps in G-325A Questions (K-1 BENEFICIARY)
    Hi there,
K1- beneficiary too. (Now married... about to file AOS)
Hope this reply will give you peace of mind.

    Good luck
    1. Applicant's residence for past 5 years.
I would just be honest. Not so hard to put more than one address. It's were you lived, resided. (Not were you got your mail). Were you lived. You can state it was college dorm... no big deal. They just want to know where you were.

    2. Applicant's last address (outside of the U.S ) for more than 5 years.
Answer the question as stated. It's kind of like the first one.
    3. Applicant's employment for last 5 years.
State employment dates, last 5 years.
I had to put an extra sheet for that, also had a new job, with several different employers. I typed in what I could then when I ran out of room I typed in ( See attached continuation sheet). If you wanted it put everything on the cont. sheet, I'm sure that's fine.
Best way to label it correctly? This is what I did...
    (Top right corner...)
    G-325A, Biographic Information
    Continuation Sheet
    'Name'
The rest of the sheet, I made it look exactly like the question on the form. A line for signature & date, at end of page.
If you didn't work, during a period of time, state so. Unemployed, or school... Just make sure your dates flow, make sense.
    4. Last occupation abroad "if not shown above".
Did you work outside of your country? Did you include it on that sheet? Then you've listed it, with the question above.
You could answer... *Occupation abroad listed on continuation sheet*
'if not shown above (on that sheet) then you answer the question.
    5. This form is submitted in connection for an application for : ?
    I put..
Check "Other" (Specify) Form I-129F in the space beside it.
    6. Signature, as well as the box under the word "Applicant" at the VERY bottom of the page.
From my understanding, I fill out both on my form-- and my fiance fills out both on her own G325A form. Is this correct?
Yes. You do YOUR G325A and she does HER G325A.
    7. Where to put None, and where to put N/A.
Area's where I put "None": File Number, U.S Social Security Number, Current Husband/Wife, Former Husbands/Wife, Alien Registration Number.
Area's where I put "N/A" : If your native alphabet is in other Roman letters.
    Correct?
A: Correct... As long as you both answer truthful, that's all that matters... if you put N/A instead of none... or vice-versa.. it's okay... just be honest

    Happy Journeys!

CANbirdUSman got a reaction from Nich-Nick in Expanded Country Forum: By Consulate/Embassy city
    Hi VJ lovers!
It's great there's a Forum for different Countries.
How about taking it a step further, and have a Forum which includes that countries US consulate/Embassy.
Example: Country = CANADA City consulate/embassy= VANCOUVER or MONTREAL
Forum could be: CANADA/VANCOUVER or CANADA/MONTREAL
As the beneficiary, I usually seek information from my own Country, Canada, and look for replies from people in my city, Vancouver. I think it would streamline a lot of conversations to stay within like minded areas of the site. Especially for NEW people to the site. Lots to explore on this site, once you know where to look
Anyone else with me? Or does this Forum or Portal already exist?

CANbirdUSman reacted to dukeandduchess in Canada Immigration and K1 Guide for Vancouver
So I saw someone mention "wouldn't it be nice if someone wrote a Vancouver guide..." in another post and I thought, Hey - Why not! I borrowed heavily from Ralyse's Montreal Guide - so credit goes to her and the others involved in creating the Montreal guide. Hopefully this helps people out a bit. If not, PM me!
    1. NOA2:
Cry and call everyone you know. The long part of the wait is over and now it’s time to get your butt to America. The next couple of months are easy if you are well prepared.
    2. NVC/DOS:
You may contact them in regard to where your application is. I never did this so if anyone knows the instructions for Vancouver let me know. Otherwise I’ll assume they are the same for anyone. It took 28 days to receive my letter from the Vancouver Consulate from my NOA2 date.
    3. Packet 3:
    Part 1:
    - Download Packet 3 from the Vancouver Consulate website. (http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/pdfs/K1-K3-packet3.pdf)
    - To communicate with the Vancouver Consulate e-mail is the best method. They generally reply within 2 business days. E-mail: Vancouverk@state.gov
    - You can also fax them at 604.688.8537.
    Part 2:
Complete and return immediately by fax form DS-230 Part I, Biographic Data. This form is accessible online. Fax to: 604.688.8537.
    Part 3:
Obtain each of the following documents that are applicable to your case and for each non-U.S. citizen unmarried child under 21 who will accompany you to the United States. Bring a photocopy if you need your original back.
As you obtain each document check off the box found on your Packet 3. You will need:
    - Passport (with 6 months validity)
    - Medical Examination (As long as this is done before the Interview it’s okay!)
    - Birth Certificates (must show that it is an extract from official records and must bear the seal of the issuing authority/must state the names of both parents)
    - Evidence in Lieu of an Unobtainable Birth Certificate (if you can’t get a birth certificate you need other evidence) Eg: Baptismal certificate, hospital certificate, school recorts, notarized statement from a close relative.
    - Marriage Certificate (this is for K3 visas only)
    - Divorce and Death Certificates (if you or your fiancé(e) were previously married)
    - Police Certificates
    - Court and Prison Records
    - Evidence of Support (Form I-134 Affidavit of Support)
    - Photographs (5 identical passport photos). 3 are for your medical, 2 are for your Interview
    - Custody (you must show you have sole custody of any children under 21 that will accompany you).
    - Translations
    - Form DS-156 Non-Immigrant Visa Application (complete online and print 2 copies for your interview)
    - Form DS-156K Non-Immigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application
    4. Returning Packet 3:
Once you have collected all of the documents on the Packet 3 checklist you must fax ONLY the checklist back to the Vancouver Consulate (604.688.8537) *** Note: I had been in contact with the consulate via e-mail because I had issues booking my medical exam and never actually faxed this form back, instead they got annoyed with me and sent me Packet 4 via e-mail and I was able to book my Interview immediately.***
    5. Wait:
Usually the Vancouver consulate will mail you Packet 4. Sometimes they e-mail it to you. I don’t know. West Coast is a bunch of unpredictable hippies.
    6. Schedule your Interview:
Lucky for you, I have the inside scoop. Basically Packet 4 tells you to book your appointment. Easy. *Do not book your interview until you have received Packet 4 or have been told it is on its way*
“This office has received notification that you now have all of the required documents pertinent to your visa application, and you are ready to schedule your visa interview. To schedule an appointment, including rescheduling and canceling appointments, please visit http://canada.usvisa-info.com.'>http://canada.usvisa-info.com. All visa applicants, including children under the age of 14, must schedule an appointment.”
    - Packet 4 also includes instructions on what to bring/what not to bring on the day of your interview. If you want the entire content of the e-mail I was sent I am happy to PM it to you.
    - You can get an interview within 4-6 weeks (or less!) when I was doing all of this. In your face, Montreal! (kidding!)
    7. Medical!:
Woking Medical makes the most sense for people going through Vancouver Consulate. Their website is http://www.wokingmedical.com/ . Their bark is worse than their bite, trust me. Their website is scary but just make sure you’ve done everything well in advance *VACCINATIONS* and you have nothing to worry about.
You could also go back East (copied from Ralyse’s Guide):
Dr. Seiden: http://panelphysicians.com/ (Toronto and Montreal)
    Medisys: http://www.medisys.ca/ (Montreal)
    8. Interview (The day has finally come!):
The Vancouver Consulate is notoriously easy. Just be prepared. Smile. Relax. I’ve written a review in great length somewhere in the Canada forums so if you want more information read that or PM me so I can ramble at you.
    9. DHL:
The second biggest pain in the butt other than waiting for your NOA2. The staff at the Vancouver Consulate give extremely confusing and inaccurate instructions about how to get your Waybill. The waybill doesn’t show up until your passport has been processed and the Visa has been put in. If you left your e-mail DHL should send you updates/tracking numbers but they weren’t always accurate. Just keep logging into the http://canada.usvisa-info.com website until your waybill shows up. Easy, after logging into USCIS religiously for 5 months!
    10. POE:
You can go to the US anytime once you get your passport back. Your Visa expires after 6 months and you can always check which day it is because it’s written on your Visa! Yay! Kathryn41 has written a great POE checklist here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/347629-moving-to-the-us-summary-list/
